Conveyance: A Mini.

Don't get too excited...

Quick pitstop to get to spare and we're back on our way!

Success!

I'm not convinced it's small enough to park in those bays.

I'm gonna miss the Mini but I'm already loving the Volvo's sunroof.

Over the moon with the mini. I can't stop grinning when I'm driving it. The charger whine is addictive. It's making me drive like a bell end though.

I'm away out for another hoon.

Enjoy the T5. I miss it, but it's not really ideal as daily driver for me.

@paulplom you should see if you can come along to Blyton on the 20th March. Would be interested to see how it goes against the MGF :)

Has anyone had it off the clock yet?
It seemed to die a death at 135 earlier.

150 miles in and loving it.
This wants to fuck right off though. It's barely better that the t-5 it's replaced.38afeb58a0979c97ff6f8ed15df7198e.jpg

No wonder if you're driving at 136mph ?

These supercharged ones are not known for their fuel economy

I wasn't really officer. I bottled it at 110. Got there quick enough though.

Impressive! I had it around 35 but that's skewed by a fair bit of motorway driving where the sixth gear really comes into its own...

In other news, my mam likes the Volvo.

There's a few jobs need doing on it. I noticed this morning the lights are pointing down too much. I had to put main beam on to see where I was going. The exhaust at the back is hanging down on the left hand side. I want to find and sort the oil leak as well. My mate has a body shop in Blyth. I might get him to sort the rust out.

I would love to do the jobs myself but all my car stuff that I'd been collecting for the last 30 odd years was stolen when the bastards turned my lock up over.

I just can't seem to get away with the radio. The sound's shite to my ears. I've messed about with every setting on the radio but I just can't seem to get it right. I'm not sure if it's the head unit or the speakers at fault. Any one local got a different radio I could try?

Posted

Yeah, it took me a while to get the radio to a sound that I was happy with - its default seems to be VERY boomy. Not sure there's anything physically wrong with it, I think it's just a case of keeping on faffing about...

It was doing that when @Jim Bell had it, I had a look and came to the conclusion it needed new lights as everything seemed to be broken.  No idea how it's passing alignment checks!

Definitely on the "one day" list, only issue is the fuel economy means I'll only be able to blag it as a toy rather than an actual car.  So I might as well get a RACE CAR

It failed the last MOT on it, then they adjusted and it passed... so yeah, something's amiss with them.

I had an mgf vvc 6 or 7 years ago. I would say this is a fair bit quicker. Not sure of the handling yet though.

Definitely miles faster than a VVC.  And easy handling, it just grips grips and gently understeers.

Only fun if it's safe to go fast really.

Posted

Exactly! Bring it on down :)

If it's faster then I'll definitely be interested when you're bored of it /lose your licence.

I've driven a lightly hopped up VVC in a couple of cars and the Cooper S's are in a different league (forced induction league) acceleration wise.

Not sure who would triumph in the corners though.
