A weekend driving other peoples shite

I managed to drive some quality shite motors at the weekend, all of them 'required' metal! first up was this Volvosaurus 740 2.3 se turbot, which a very lucky bleeder of a friend has just been given! all it needed was an exhaust centre box to get it through the mot, I must confess this 180,000 mile beast drove very nicely, no knocks bangs or rattles, pulls like a train, amazing brakes and perhaps the most comfortable seats known to humanity.......

This LHD 1980 BMW 732I turbo was an all together a different experience, this old teutonic leviathan is well past her best, not a patch on the E28 528I I owned many years ago....

The best fun was this Triumph vitesse, it's a tatty old thing but much loved by the friend that owns it, extra bonus shite points for not being a genuine rag top, even with it's tired engine this old heap really put a smile on my face, I didn't want to take it back

I used to detest Volvos until I got a 740 which I loved.I wonder if there'd be any value in holding an AutoShite 'reader's rides' weekend where we could sample each other's motors somewhere? Even just a passenger seat ride in someone else's car would be good fun, do you think it would work?

Wuvvum, Mr_Bollox and I certainly enjoyed doing this kind of thing one night at The Angel. Laurel vs CX vs Pony...Loks like a fun weekend BS6.

We ought to meet a for AS swingers party keys on the tables but no petting  As an aside I will lend any of my motors to pretty much most people with similar tastes and wheels - is this the norm?

I wouldn't mind if any autoshiters wanted too take mine out for some 1600 OMG RWD DRIFT action.

I'd be up for an autoshite dabblers weekend. Although Im not sure anyone on here would want to drive escRot.....

That's a 940, not that there's much seperating a 940 and a 740 really.

My Bond's so bad I actually won't let anyone else drive it...I'm very precious about the 2CV.I reckon I'd let people have a go in the BX though, if only to watch the look of surprise on their face when they hit the brakes!

I could bring my Nippa down as the booby prize. Like having to dance with the teacher cos all the girls were taken/ hated you. (Not that I have any bitter memories from childhood at all)

I lent my Mitsubishi Sigma estate to a work colleague once, and it came back reeking of glue. Perhaps he transported Shergar with it...and the last time I lent my 405 to my wife, she broke the remote central locking. Turned out she managed to snap the chip clean off the PCB. This is probably why I am a meek husband. That E32, being a turbot, is a rare old beast. Want!I have a bit of a thing about late 940s at the moment but, this being Autoshite, I fancy a saloon.

I dont really have any shite to swap, but I'd happily pay money to borrow a car from a members fleet for a weekend or a show or something.
