MASSIV WINNAH!!!Lots of Maxi love here, that's bloody ace that is!Is it Sandglow or yellow and 1750cc single carb I assume as no 'HL' badges? Or could it be OMG REAR AS FCUK 1500?Jealous of Cheshire.

Oh yeah, forgot to say, t'is truly excellent!Don't s'pose you fancy bringing it to a random gathering of folk in Henlow on Wednesday do you?

I can't fetch it till Tuesday/Wednesday at the earliest due to space issues, then need to pump it up, deal with the niggles and MOT. So pretty unlikely!!!I might visit though, probably in something chavvy :wink:

Cool. I'll be in something boxy and white that's got OMG SLAMMED factory built in, but can (most of the time...) pump itself up. Maybe that's an idea. Convert hydrolastic to hydropneumatic! I mean, how hard could it be?

Groovy!! I'll see you there. If I can be arsed.

THE MAXI HAS LANDED!!!1!

Firstly I would like to say a Massive Thankyou to fellow shiter Andrew353w who went above and beyond the call of duty, travelling up from London to A-frame this glorious beast back to pog towers, for nothing more than fuel money and some Old Speckled Hen. Legendary.

Anyway, this car is clearly the dog's whatsits. Proper Sid & Doris spec, lovely brown velour, and just 39k from new. Quality.

Now the car has done just 26 miles since it was last MoT'd 3 and a bit years ago, and has been skulking in a lockup since. However with the battery boshed on and a few cursory checks it fired up pretty quickly, everything works and it drove onto my driveway under it's own steam. It purrs like a kitty, at tickover its quieter than my BMW....

Can't wait to get it on the road, I reckon with the twin SU's it's going to be quite a weapon (for a 30 year old piece of beige bilge).

Works required are as follows:

* full service

* pump up the suspension

* small tickle of welding on the N/S sill

* refix a biffed indicator

* iron out a shallow crease in one of the door

* drive about IN STYLE.

Awesomes.

They go for 300 quid on ebay! Otherwise, there's still a number of garages that still do it. MGF's/Metros' etc. I paid 20 quid all round.

Nice one Pog! One of the defining motors of my automotive youth.I remember some Sunday Express magazine article in the early '80s where they found what they believed to me the most average man in Britain, and he had a Maxi.

And he was getting laid the average of two or three times a week, with a Maxi? :shock: Looks like a gem, Pog. Get moving on the MoT 8)
