Barry Cade Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Bought a Doblo to replace rotten Sorento.. Doblo's great and hasn't put a foot rong... so I did this. Needs tyres, a screen and an MOT. 2.5 petrol.. couldn't help myself. Anyone wanna Doblo? The Moog, HairySteve, RobT and 35 others 35 3
Fabergé Greggs Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Nice! Been thinking that someone needs to buy one of these.. what’s the doblo details?
Alan_Green Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I like Doblos. Had two of the very high roof pope-mobile variety. The best of the lot are the petrol Dynamic spec (with air con) ones and I remember that's what you've got. In red, right?
skattrd Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 X reg, that's quite a late one, so you get cup holders, unlike some of us. How does the 2.5 go? It should do better than the 20mpg I get from the 4.0. That said, I like the noise from the 6 pot, and it's been reliable since I fixed the initial niggles.
Barry Cade Posted August 10, 2019 Author Posted August 10, 2019 16 MPG so far.... driven home from sellers, up over the A93 Glenshee with a binding front brake. Hopefully it'll do better than this! Doblo is a 2007 1.4 16v, base no frills model but its a likeable thing! 140K, mot'D October and runs great.. clutch is high, as all of these seem to be, but doesn't slip, even up over the devils elbow. Back wiper groans like a bored teenager and the red is a bit faded in places. Did 200 odd miles in it today. a bit revvy on the motorway, but surprisingly fun on the backroads. SV57TDO if anyone wants history. Flat4, Sudsprint, Fat_Pirate and 2 others 5

Barry Cade Posted August 29, 2019 Author Posted August 29, 2019 Mot PASS today on the Cherokee 4 New bigger 235/75/15 Toyo's, a new windscreen, a new caliper and hose, new metal plates, some bulbs and a good going over and it's legal for a year. Taking a bit of getting used to but I think I like it, doing 28 mpg average up over Glenshee too. paulplom, stuboy, 320touring and 17 others 20
Barry Cade Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 I've kept beavering away at this thing and seem to be getting somewhere. The judder/stutter/misfire at 2000 rpm was getting to me and I was running out of ideas as to what was going on. Early one morning I was browsing through an American Jeep XJ forum when I found an old thread from some ex Jeep Tech saying 1999/2000 models sometimes had a dodgy wiring loom to the injectors, where the plugs for 3 and 4 were taped up wrongly and were crossed over... Swapped them over and the symptoms got better by about 90%.. Today I cleaned up all the ECU earths, engine and body earths and it seems to be cured. By no means a smooth and torquey engine, but ok in a 30 year old way. MPG has gone up to 27.5 too. I white lettered the Toyo's too.. Not done that since I had a 125 motorbike.. out for a bit of exploring earlier- I have 155 square miles of estate to investigate Flat4, Asimo, LightBulbFun and 19 others 22
paulplom Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 There's a 2001 lexus near me with white lettering on the tyres. Proper giffer style. I'll grab a photo.
kinkersaab Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 I still have this in my shed...not sure anyone will ever want it...but I bought one as I saw they were disappearing fast. Its a 2.5 manual. Would love another 4.0 one, Fantastic engines. Barry Cade 1
skattrd Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Can we have some interior shots pleas @Barry Cade so I can drool at the cup holder(s)
