East Coast Retros MeatUp. Thurs 25th July

So it looks like it’s going to be good news for East Coast Retros and Trigger’s army of followers. AA718615-3EEB-42BD-9101-7E54489EF296.jpeg.e740c650049ab3cc60e97c26f836e415.jpeg

I’m going to take my little 190 down to the coast. If anyone fancies a really relaxed Thursday night with a great mix of cars then it’d be lovely to see you there and have a beer and a burger together. It’s the Rose Pub at Shotley, nr Ipswich and you can arrive from about 1600 hours.

Coming?

Won't be able to get to this sadly as I'm going to France on Thursday.

No worries man - happy travels!

I've only just spotted this!, the other week we had 390 cars turn up and it was a mega night, the forecast is looking hot, hot, hot! this Thursday so I'm expecting it to be a bit manic again, we may or may not have won the Practical Classic top 10 best car clubs competition they have been running but i couldn't possibly say as it's not been publicly announced yet. ?

Doing a track day in Gainsborough on Thursday. Missed the last Shotley event as didn't know it was on (and was less than 10 miles away that evening).

Like Wuvvum, I am also away on Thursday (Ireland rather than France though), so will unfortunately miss it.

Have a free bump up the page though; the last one was great and the weather is looking perfect for this one.

Give us a wave if you’re here!

Not saying it’s hot or owt, but folks here on the east coast are covering their vinyl seats with beach towels. 4188A113-6E64-4AF6-9120-D59547E2F71A.thumb.jpeg.b4a1794c4668b93936f32df65ac4d20b.jpeg

Sadly can't go because of going away tomorrow, but it'll be a heck of a night - enjoy it those of you who can go!

I was driving home in the 1200 and saw a rather nice yellow Mk3 Cortina estate heading south down the A140, maybe on its way to Shotley?

Rather pleased and surprised I could make it to this! What an astonishing turnout. I'll get my pics up when I can.

A pleasure to see Amishtat and Angrydicky, and I know Bornite was knocking about somewhere. And the combination of violent thunderstorm and incredible sunset on my way home will stick with me for ages to come.

Another masterclass in organisation by Trigger and co. Great stuff.

Somehow I managed to miss a lot of folk - I only saw @Angrydickyas we both left!

My parents came around from Felixstowe for a little nostalgia and - truth be told - I think mum was struggling with back pain and very glad to get a seat in the pub after a quick scout around.

As always some great stuff there. I had a really nice chat with Danny H from PC and it’s always nice to see the oldies.

I think this was my favourite entrance. Winners.

Oh. And the storm was phenomenal!

Mercedes was faultless on the near 200 mile round trip.

Well done to @trigger and the rest of the team on the win. Everyone at PC was very complimentary. Rightly so.

You can get an idea of the phenomenal weather just from this one iPhone photo!

I didn't actually take that many pictures because I was pushed for time and spoilt for choice. Lovely to meet some fellow shiters and ogle some tat, the Austin didn't miss a beat and the drive home was amazing, a spectacular lightning display as well as a vivid orange sunset. 11/10,would go again.

I didn't get chance to take many photos as it was really busy so I'll share some of FB to here later but briefly we got picked as the best classic car club in Britain, amazingly!

Really can't believe it as some of the other clubs looked much better but the PC team loved the huge number and diversity of cars we have as well as the friendliness and 'festival' feel that our meets have! We also got this which now sits proudly behind the bar of the pub!

As for cars I only got photos of these ones.

Well done to the club. I managed to go with the 405 Sri. So many cars...

That was a beauty.. Brought back memories of my Dad's Winchester grey example, F915BRN, bought new in 1989 and very probably long gone.

Was it you talking to Danny about your 405 - stood right next to me?!

EDIT: Must be now I've seen you have cavalier in your username! Nice to (sort of) meet you!
