That might work, But we still have the problem of not having a logo big enough for the printers to copy.

I think an Autoshite shirt with my username on it would be a fantastic idea (if I never wanted to enjoy the company of females within the remainder of my lifespan).

As Hirst says, GR8 for scaring off wimin.Shirts, hats, mugs - NO.However, if there were any car stickers available, then YES PLEASE!
stickers, stickers, stickers, where do i sign :P

It is bigger than what Fred done but i'm not sure, I don't know anything about things like this! , is it 100kb or 300dpi? and is it clear enough to be copied?.Looks o.k to me.

i've just tried to clear the image a little up a little, less colours uses less ink so in turn should be cheaper to print..

i like the beige, orange and grey, simple and does exactly as it says on the tin :) i just personally think the cars are a little to much for a car sticker :)

Do we not hasve a graphic designer amongst us who could perhaps use something a little more sophisticated than Microsoft Paint to tweek it for use?PS the original's 36k, photobucket compressed it on upload.

If someone emails 'The Management' then they probably have all the logos etc in their original format.'H Sceptre' or 'Electric Leyland'. However they are often off doing mad things in obscure locations, so don't expect an instant reply!

No mad things in obscure locations for me today - boring stuff in Leicester to be precise.Unfortunatley the original Autoshite artwork was done on m'colleague Mr Leylands old PC some years ago & has since been lost in cyberspace. Since the topic of merchandise rears its head from time to time, we have considered knocking up (oooo-eeer missus) some bits & bobs ourselves, but can't for the lives of ourselves find the original artwork. Sorry!

if you could tell us the name of the font (or where you got it from) in the logo we could have a go at re creating it. That's the problem with taking it off the forum, you can't blow it up or get it in a dense enough form to blow it up.

I've just emailed Mr Leyland, but I'm not sure if he's contactable today (work stuff), but I'll get back to you as soon as I've got a reply......

Car stuff! 9 hour round trip to pick up '67 S-Type from up north, which decided it didn't like auto gearbox oil anymore and spewed it up all the way home. Now sitting proudly in a lake of it like a defiant car that's shat itself for fun. It's a fairly recently overhauled transmission too, before being SORNed for a long time. Something's quite wrong.Have now finally located the original 3-car photo for the logo. So let's start from the top again...

Hi, rare message from Blakey here....Nick contacted me to ask about the logo/font, as I built the original site and forum, and did the logo artwork.I may possibly have original large scale copies of the artwork, and logo font (as it was something fairly custom if I remember rightly). That was about 4 years and several dead laptops ago, so if it's anywhere, it'll be on an external back up hard drive somewhere. I would probably have sent Mr Leyland a copy at the time, but like I said, it was a while back.If nothing else, I may just be able to recover the font name from notes, and re-download. The I can at least knock up a 300dpi logo for you lot.

Fantastic! Now we are getting somewhere, thanks for getting back to us.

Although I would appreciate a Autoshite Mug, Tshirt, Window Sticker etc.Do you think that from these products a donation should be made to the mods/site owners for utilising the logo etc. This will help them as I presume the site costs are funded out of their own pocket. Just a thought...

Been through my back up drive with a fine tooth comb. Can't find the original artwork files, but have got the original project notes and the relevant fonts. It won't take me more than a few minutes to do a new 300 dpi version of the logo, so if someone has pixel dimensions needed for stickers/mugs etc, I can churn them out over the weekend, and mail them to Messrs Sceptre and Leyland.Mr Leyland, if you have the original photo of the 3 cars (think it was in front of De Montfort Hall), then mail me that as well, and I'll strip out the background again and you can have a copy on file and you then have the option of stickers/merchandise with/without cars.

All across Autoshite, I can hear the sound of a load of cigarettes suddenly being stamped out.

Thankfully my house is powered by a combustable mixture of self recrimination, ghost hair and olive oil. It's all the rage in bio-fuel circles these days.

Blakey has spoken! - Hello :D When i emailed a sticker company they asked for the logo to be ideally 100kb or 300 dpi for it to work but the measurement would be 11" x 1" which seems a bit of a strange size for a sticker.I might also try that isleofwhite stickers chap on RR to see how much they work out with him as isaydingdong is £150 for 100 stickers + postagethen £1 per sticker + postage for any future orders (of a reasonable size).
