These are amazingly easy to restore, I'd put money on that being back on the road with coils a Tdi and Station Wagon body within days of the end of sale. I bet to look at you'd never think it was the same car.

Will it turn into D701?

To be fair to that pram-top conversion, the seats are ACE.

 

Because he robbed them from Rover 200 BRM, which has one of the best interiors ever.

Fantastic looking cars those are; don't recall ever seeing one on the road myself, though. Well I mean I probably did when I was four or something, but not that I can actually remember.

I had one 17 years ago next month. Bought it with my 18th birthday money off a lady in the village. It wasn't really sale yet but my brother was mates with the owners son. I forced £350 into her hand and made her sell it to me there and then. She said it won't run properly and suggested coming back with my Dad at the weekend to have a proper look. It was my birthday I had the cash to buy and insure it and the insurance were closing in 30 mins - I WAS going out driving that night! I had to pull the choke out when idling or it would cut out. I only had it 6 months but I loved that car.
