That's brilliant obviously. I'd love to know how they got an FWD K-series to interface with the rear engined Skoda bits. Must've been a real labour of love.

There's quite a few Estelle K Series running around. I think someone sells bits to do the conversion

here's dollywobbler driving one

One of the absolutely last made.  Interesting vehicle/concept.

Approach not so far from today's 'crossovers'. Press were very snippy at the time but Rover's design team were seeing the future pretty clearly over 20 years ago.

The rest of the bluff-fronted prototypes that never made production also were heavily criticised - but vehicle style went very quickly in that direction too.

This looks to have lived a pampered life

One of those 'gentlefolk' ad's. It's 2K for something that's probably been down the shops twice a week. Might blow it's engine first outing down a motorway. Utterly boring when new and the equivalent of a motoring Wether's Original now. There are interesting quirky cars and cars that are one motoring stop from a twilight home. Ad' is completely overwritten in 'gentlefolk' style:

"The car is well specified, having air-conditioning" - no mention if it works tho'.

"Advisory-free MOT to 24th June"

And if it's that good why not put 12 months ticket on it and ring the service centre as suggested above.

Gelotophobia: the fear of being laughed at.

I presume MG Rover's design & development team had a budget of £2.38* in the 00s, trying to prolong the life of the already old 200/25 series with some plastic cladding probably was inexpensive and, indeed, somewhat ahead of the times.  If seen from the perspective of a company that was left to die and had very limited resources left, ideas like the Streetwise and the Cityrover aren't that bad.

*might be optimistic
