 I did attempt to re-spray it with cans but unfortunately it didn’t all go to plan so will probably need a complete respray .The car runs and drives.

Cadillac has "Ended."  Whether he's changed his mind, or his circumstances, or had a good offer, I suppose time will tell.  What I do know is, it wasn't me that bought it.

I know they had their problems, but i always liked the look of Viva's over the common or garden escort they were up against. And how relatively cheap is that compared to any escort now

I owned one of those for about 8 months in 2006.  Of all the vauxhalls I've ever owned (and that's alot) it was the one that had the worse reliability and most bodging by previous owners. 

I regret that I had neither the time nor the money to fix everything that needed fixing.

I spent about 8 hours "detailing" one of these for a friends dad, had gone totally pink like they all do, did my best with Autoglym products and it lasted about 18months before the roof had a hint of pink..20 minutes had it back to red, and he sold it the next day and gave me £150 (back in 1989 just over £400 today) as the guy that bought it commented on how good it looked ;) -

Sadly not my old one.

These are incredibly rare now, be worth a good bit of money when done. I think there's more than 2 on the road, but it won't be loads. Rumour has it the last 17 made it onto an 'F' plate. Oddly enough, the day I got mine I found 3 on my mid-Wales run in the van and ended up buying the one that wasn't actually for sale.

That's 2018 by the way.

I think it's the same guy, he drove his Hyundai Matrix to my old old address, drove the 164 back home and never came back for the other car. It got dragged away by the council in the end. 

The Alfa had all sorts of minor things going wrong constantly. The guy I got it off had a mod haircut and had a scooter as a display piece in his kitchen. So yeah, that was a weird ownership.
