Most concerning bit is the rear overhang.

I'll never understand why these are unloved. This one "needs tidying" as they say, but looks usable.

£500 but 6d to run, Staffs

Gorn already?
I think they were always viewed as something a bit less desireable than the Golf GTi? Rather partial to one myself but never had the chance - FiL went for a Jetta GTi  back in the day (which has to be even less desireable than the Sirocco?)

I'd be all over that if i were in the market for a modern classic. So much nicer than its golf counterparts that they share so much identity/parts with.

I remember a teacher at my school had 2 in succession

It's pretty decent looking car - 7 years out of MOT mind (and I think he's mistakedly transposed the mileage from 170,000 to 107,000 in the listing).

The seats, the seats :-) It's like a toned down TR7 inside.

I've got the old logbook here for a Minor Traveller, VKC 225.  It's been gone 55 years or so but that wouldn't stop someone who could work the system.... would it?

I've also got 1108 ED, which as you can imagine, I would absolutely love to have on one of my cars.  Never going to happen, DVLA specifically told me so when I asked.

FTFY.  Seriously, I will never get it.  I've driven a vast assortment of VWs.  Nope, can't see the charm in any of them.

Because the mk1 Scirocco was prettier, although way rustier. The ultimate Volkswagen coupe of the 80s/90s was the Corrado though - I'd love a nice VR6 example. I should have taken on Cluffy's when he was selling.

You should. That was a very pampered car, he did loads to it (and I helped sometimes).

And it was blurple.

Probably a rare example of a worthwhile investment classic in these strange times
