IIRC you could get 1300 & 1500's both in FWD then RWD before the Toledo and Dolomite ranges.  I had a FWD TC that went pretty damn well, same year and colour as that.

Yeah, the original FWD 1300 was facelifted and split into two models, the RWD 1300 Toledo and the FWD 1500 (with longer boot).

Then all subsequent new variations combined RWD with the longer boot body, starting with the (1850) Dolomite, then Dolomite Sprint, then a new 1500 Dolomite.  Finally the Toledo was replaced by a 1300 Dolomite.

As usual, AROnline have the fuller story.

The whole Triumph small saloon story was quite ridiculous and another case of BL building several models that were only very slightly different.

You've pretty much covered it there. But it was amusing that the 1500 FWD and 1500 TC RWD looked absolutely identical. The only difference was one had blue BL plughole logos in the wheel trims and one had black. Even the interiors were identical, the 1500 FWD used the rear drive Dolomite bodyshell, it just had a different tinplate gearbox cover inside. It still had a transmission tunnel and used the RWD rear suspension but with a simple beam axle in place of the live axle on the RWD cars. The 1300 had a much more sophisticated semi trailing arm set up similar to the 2000s but without an axle obviously.

They gave up on the FWD mainly because of cost. I still think the FWD cars handle and ride better, but I am biased as I have one. But in reality you have to be doing something stupid to notice the difference. In normal driving they are very similar.

The Toledo was meant to be a Herald replacement, sitting below the 1500 FWD, but by the time that went RWD there was really little difference between the two.

£6000 for a hardly used diesel Peugeot wagon. This will give years of service, but might cost a bit if you need to go to ULEZ land.

6 Large though, my last 405 estate was 150 quid and it was a cracker. I know times change and rare cars are sometimes worth more. Is that true in the case of a 405 estate though?

Two signs that getting any real info from the seller might be a struggle:

1. The description begins "On the 29th April 1988 Miss Benger from Wiltshire collected her new Vauxhall Astra 1.3 Merit estate from Signpost Motors of Trowbridge..."

2. They can't count how many doors it has.

"in the deal was her p/x, a 1979 'on the T' Hillman Hunter in Bronze"

Was there such a thing? Surely by 1979/T reg they were Chrysler Hunters

Zero description (even an AI one) is a bit off-putting, but they're a snazzy looking old bus these and maybe £595 is reasonable.

Practical rare bus in an interesting colour, but I'd be worried what hides underneath that rattle can job...
