Iveco daily recovery truck | eBay

Quite possibly the actual one I had the misfortune to pilot for a short while a few years ago.  It could go well enough (one lad got 95 on a flat, I bottled out at 88 down hill) but it wasn't especially amusing when the throttle pedal got stuck on the floor as you were overtaking wagons flat out down the Oswestry bypass. It also wasn't amusing when the back window fell out when it was 3 weeks old. Nor when the fuel pump packed up on it's first ever outing from brand new.  It was funny when you accidentally* put the tacho card in back to front through and just hammered it round all day without taking a break or sticking to speed limits. Allegedly.

I was a salesman at an Iveco dealer 21 years ago, and I’m still traumatised by the memories of selling these when just a few years old but totally fucked..

The car has a relatively interesting history.  It was bought new in Brussels on 9th November 1978 by Group Captain Ted Bliss who worked there as Head of Nuclear Armaments at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe. He brought it back with him to the UK in 1985.  It was apparently used as a weekend and holiday car and had covered only 40,793 miles until his death in 2008/09.  The car was featured in the Citroenian Magazine in March 2009 when it was described...

It came to us via Cavcraft in early 2015!

If any established Shiter srsly fancies it, a discount may apply at checkout :)

I remember this, it was (and no doubt still is) a brilliant car.

A slightly earlier 827 @ Brightwells tomorrow with no reserve and a kind of back story:

This one went through their sale in early September that I was watching and was provisional/no sale @ £1880  with an estimated price (aka uber-high reserve) of £3,250 - £4,250.  It's now cropped up in a one-off, timed ending auction that they are running tomorrow. Looking at the listings it's stuff that did not sell over recent weeks and is now on sale for no reserve/reduced reserves (e.g. Hillman Imp that was in last week's sale).
Trying to find the previous listing I fell over some bollox about the car from a couple of years back - proper cringey stuff ymmv.

Couple of other interesting beasties in the sale (827 is a saloon I'd rather have an estate for the dogs) - Granada looks possibly rather crispy/frilly around the edges and the ZTT is currently at £1300, reserve not met with 'estimate' of £1500 - £2500

The MG ZTT was on my radar but considering its not exactly a mint example and it has barely any options it'll be a big nope from me at that price. Project Drive has hit hard by the time this one was built as well. I feel like these sell for the same money and much lower miles on ebay, without having to be junk. Great color and the right engine/gearbox though.
