The really early GTs had the suitcase engine.. I was hoping this would be one but definitely not on a H... were they all more door?

Yep, XS was the 3dr, GT the 5dr

DVLA came back to me and asked me to take it a testing station in Worcester to verify the VIN Number, ive done this and its correct but now they want me to take it again as it appears it will be treated as a new vehicle (like if you build a kit car) and issued with new registration number, well thats it im 74 years old and totaly not interested in it any more, i need to get on with my life and my wife is getting on to me about it.

 

Translated this means "I've got sod all chance of getting this on the road so I'm going to try to sack it off to someone on ebay."

21s are great. Not very exciting, but a very pleasant way to potter about the place. Mine was a 2-litre injection. It was a sod to work on. Changing the starter motor involved all sorts of hand contortion. Would have been easier if I'd removed the entire inlet manifold I suspect.

That rangie is good 2 door madness for a person with plenty of time.The Le Baron is definitely shite - no two ways about it. An acquaintance had one and it was fine in 2.6 for cruising but was out of puff in any quick situation.

Forgot to mention. I called about this on Friday. It was still available then. Parked up when four years old. Chap bought it, but hadn't gone out to buy it and so it got garaged. All a bit odd. I was meant to phone back about it on Saturday but that didn't quite happen and now I'm fixating on something entirely different.
