Modified Rover MG ZR

This wanksock has changed the engine in his "Rover MG ZR" from a 1.4 to a 1.8 and advertised the fact that it's still on the logbook as a 1.4 so you can insure it cheaply. Why not go the whole hog and also claim you are a 75 year old granny who only ever drives once a year to the doctor for her bottom grapes popping? So if you're running round basically without any insurance, you'd probably want to keep the car looking fairly understated. You deffo wouldn't do something silly like paint over the back lights which will almost certainly get you pulled over the first time you go anywhere near a copper.

This moron likes to live life dangerously and won't let such things as other road users being able to see his brake lights get in the way of looking ICE COOL.

While the back lights are sprayed the same colour as the car, the front bumper unfortunately is not:

I was going to question why he wasted money buying a set of "lexus style lights" to completely repaint in the body colour rather than just using the boggo ones, but the lad is clearly a few litres short of a full header tank so I'll cut him some slack.

While I'm posting crap rovers, Cop a load of this:

I properly enjoy the inclusion of two £20 screens infront of the passenger, just in case they are unable to turn their head the 4 degrees to see the big one 8" to the right of them:

The front wings and bonnet were remoulded to fit MG SV headlights

Oh, so Punto headlights then. I'd love to imagine this kid strutting into the MG dealers years ago and asking for a set, and the dealer sending the YTS lad out of the back door on his pushbike down the road to the Fiat dealer as fast as he could pedal, then adding about 300% to the price. Probably the first profit they made in months, since they sold a cityrover to a blind man for £18,000.

The car will only be advertised for a month after this time it will be stripped and sold for parts as I no longer have the room for it.

I'd love that 132, but I've got enough broken shite atm and that does sound like it needs quite a bit of work.

It may be worth getting as a sort of shite investment though. It should be worth the money it'll need spending on it (unlike my Mitsubishi)

Late-ish plated XJ6 shaped Daimler, though I believe they made the V12 in this format for a couple of years into the nwer shape production run as they couldn't get the engines in. How true that is I don't know but a few people swore it was true. Black ones (allegedly) special order too and it really does suit these I reckon.

'with a private registration number inclued in the sale which cost him £890 in 2001 so obveiously its worth a lot more now'

Oh shit, aye. Oddly enough I was searching for a good investment in 2001 so whilst you were paying just short of £900 11 years ago for 'D53 DAY' , I bought £891's worth of shares in Polaroid. I still reckon I did better than you.

That thing is retina shatteringly awful but I bet he spent a few coin on it as the re-trim on the interior looks good quality and it looks a bit better finished than the normal escort and corsa cock rockets we've seen through these parts. Rover 214i, the worthers just kicked in yo!

barn find beauty!

Only been on a day and its up to £2500 despite the seller saying he's got NFI what state its in underneath after spending 20 yrs in a shed.

I bought it...........restoring two already & planned (& budgeted!!!!!) on using it as a spares car as I aready have two. But it really is FAR too good to break. Now running, cleaned up & "advertised elswhere" :D

I am already a member of some years here............(Citroen CX ex- Dollywobler etc & many Fezza/Maser/Lambo projects etc), but couldn't seem to re-activate my a/c post house move.

Anyway..........I'm sure this car will go to a great & appreciative home. Just goes to show that one should never judge condition on an uninformed fleabay ad LOL :P

Cheers all, Al.

Great work Shelg! I must say these are worth a lot more than I had thought, if you were gonna spend £3500 on a spares one. They are an absolute stunner though, no doubt about it. Any photos of it cleaned up and out of that garage?

Great looking Princess in a top colour, although I think the guy is overselling the RAW POWER of the E series 6 pot...

Funny the way they always list as Austin Princess or even Morris, rather that going with the pungent aroma of it being a Leyland Princess

That'll be a an O(hno!) series in there rather than an E. Mk1 Princesses are mostly Leyland Cars, Mk2s are mostly Austin Morris, with some exceptions, and most people know them as Austin Princesses so that's the best way to list them. Very nice colour and trim combo on that one, it should make good money.

Have no idea how to post pics unfortunately, but happy to email to others to post if any takers?

My email address is .........

Yep........I've been constantly amazed by the value of these cars, though they are pretty spectacular when sorted. Soooooooooo much more 'grown up' than the cliche'd E9 3.0 Coupe's. But that's just my humble opinion.

Cheers, Al.

(BTW given my business - Italian Super stuff - they are my motor of choice :) )

It is an E series engine in there, an E6, 2200cc 6 cylinder. Basically a stretched 4 cylinder E series.

Somebody needs to rescue these from being cubed. Does Torsten still frequent these hallowed pages?

My old ambulance back up for grabs - for rather more than the £350 I paid for it four years ago, but it looks like the chap's done a fair bit of work to it (although he hasn't sorted the play in the steering).

Personally, I quite like the bit where they say it's a target for thieves with "Over the years many attempts have been made to break into it but no serious damage was ever done to it."

Edit: aimed at the Range Fortress, not the Waambulance.
