It does say so on the bootlid.

The wise Mr. Wikipedia says:

So, the model underwent several name changes it seems.

I must have missed that phase in the middle. I thought they went from SEC to CL!

There was a short period in which Mercedes called their S-Class coupe S420 Coupe to S600 Coupe. Makes it a pain to search for one of these as they were sold under 3 different names.

Also WTF would anyone do this to the back of the car?!! Its not a panel that would be easily replaceable either. Sent the seller a message anyway...

Edit: boot damage was at the other S500 coupe currently on ebay. The seller of the blue one is a "professional" breaker and claims that this 1993 top of the line Mercedes never came with cats. There is so much scum out there nowadays...

“Hi dude, I’m looking for a new ride, something cool like a 2 door koop and with plush leather too, I want classy.  When I’m rollin’ round the hood I need my crew to respect me, nuthin less than a V8 will do.  I’ve got better things to spend on than juice so get me a diesel too”

”Step this way sir, this could be your lucky day!”

I actually found this local to me and got it going. Its in absolutely unbelievable condition and Rick is a good friend of mine. Runs like a sewing machine, it's a pre VW one.

Peugeot 206, it looks like the main job on this Gran Turismo version was fitting a massive, ugly bumper

I was wrong, two massive, ugly bumpers

They’re sort of the crappest homologation model ever, just a boggo 206 GTi with extra long bumpers so as to meet WRC regs (a 206 being slightly under the required 4m length). Obviously didn’t have 4wd or 300hp either.

I quite like it.
