I know I shouldn't do this and will get beaten up for it, but alas...

I would like to buy this car. Could anyone also interested in it please PM me so we avoid bidding against each other?

I shouldn't worry if i were you, i estimate there's a 99% chance underneath this car is held together by cobwebs and hope.

Though i'd liked to be proved wrong.

I went and inspected the car. It is astonishingly solid as far as I can tell, and I can tell a lot about P6es, unfortunately.

That is a beauty and I cannot believe the price!

Christ.

ps I wont be bidding btw but I'm fecking tempted

Please let me know if you want to buy it. I'm sure we can come to an agreement if you need it more than I do.

Thanks man, I wholly blame you for making me want a Rover P6!

I've had a look at a few just now, I guess at that price they are prime banger material, no wonder if they aren't being snapped up by me and you!

But. I would probably want to hold out for a pre Dec 74 one for free TAX

This was in my mates yard quite a few years ago:

Don't know it's fate but I wasn't even nearly as interested in it as I would be now!

It does look pretty straight, but I'd want to see that red P6 before bidding on it.

It's being sold by a breakers / car spares outfit, I'm pretty sure they'd at least have access to a set of ramps & would know what to look for, so I don't believe their "haven't checked underneath" claim for one moment.

If a scrapper puts a car up for sale instead of breaking it, it's pretty much a no-brainer that the car is good. I had a look at the one in Congleton and what can I say? I found my reasoning confirmed. Also, the man is a bloody sound person to deal with. This endeavour could well end up in the pub.

Furthermore, if you seriously consider P6 ownership, I will of course encourage you.

I will back this up with making available to you everything I know, and give you full access to the network I have built up over the past few years.

Yes, I see myself as an ambassador for the car and I lead by example. I'm not rich, yet I run a V8 on a daily basis and am seriously considering to add that 2200 to my stack just for the heck of it.

I'm not a greedy man and I can assure you of my full support should you decide to go into P6 ownership.

Yes, even if it's Almond, of all fuggin things rotten.

maybe in the new year for me, plenty of other commitments to square up first

Survival rate of P6s is pretty impressive compared to some. Seems to be the same with Scimitars.

Don't worry about P6s getting raced, the weak front suspension means they aren't very popular with the racing crowd.

Ooft that mv6 is bloody lovely. I can't believe you can pick these cars up for a monkey these days.

Mate had the 2.5 elite and it was a great car, with a frankly ridiculous amount of toys. He paid a grand and had 4 years out of it at little expense before a lot of minor issues at mot time made it an uneconomical repair and he scrapped it.

I'm actually sorely tempted... Cheshire's not totally ludicrous to collect from..

Very, very wafty. Seats are a bit slidey like but when you boot the kickdown in 'Sport' mode (as he says on the advert) then they really take off. One of those cars where when you are motoring it feels like it'll take several counties before you come to halt when you brake.

Anyhow, it's probably only a fairly easy bike ride away that car so if you want me to look over it at some point let me know.
