The Webasto roof was surely ill-advised but this breathed-on early R12 looks quite smart otherwise.

There are only two photos and the other is from even further away, and out of focus.

Who even has equipment that’s capable of taking out of focus pictures these days?

I think these look fabulous, but they only sold about 27.

It also should have been called the Astra GTS, but whatever a Cascada is, here it is.

Why is it now, during a Global pandemic, national lock down and the fact I'm unemployed...does such an amazing car come for sale! :D

I honestly love these, its a car nobody asked for and had little chance of attracting sane people away from a 3 series or A5 cabrio. The fact it's in that colour makes it better!

One day, I will have one!

This looks like a bargain for any masochists on here; CityRover 'style' with the often lost 'learning' keyfob, which means you'll be able to keep your other fob working when you replace the battery! £250 in Stourport-on-Severn

That’s about half the price of the cheapest ones on Autotrader.

These are great. Essentially GM's replacement for the Saab 93 convertible, after they went and buggered them up. Still available as a Buick too: https://www.buick.com/convertible/cascada-luxury-convertible

My dad had a Vauxhall 14 as his first car in the 50s. Before my time. His cousin had one as well a bite later on. I remember my dad telling me of a couple of problems with his. One was it losing power and struggling on hills which turned out to be due to a plug lead coming off. The other was losing all drive when a half shaft came out. Otherwise he had no complaints but nothing much good to say about it. He upgraded to a Triumph Renown which he loved. My uncle’s 14 was a bit of a heap. He ended up dumping it somewhere he shouldn’t and tossing the number plates into the foundations of the Hammersmith flyover. I think this would have been when MOTs came in. The fluted bonnets look good.

Someone needs to buy this before some heathen paints it red, with a white tick mark up and over the roof.

I feel I need to learn more about this era of Vauxhall if they're that affordable.  Quite a stylish thing.

Late '30s Vauxhalls are generally not a bad steer for what they are - they had refinements such as independent front suspension, hydraulic brakes, overhead valve engines and - wonder of wonders - self-cancelling trafficators which make them a bit less primitive to drive than some pre-war cars.  Parts can be a bit of a pain though compared to their Austin / Morris / Ford contemporaries.  Camshaft-driven wipers are also a bit of a pain.
