And a fascinating* fact of the day for you. The garden in the background used to house my ill fated collection of rubbish old Fords. The very last time I was down there, one of the Focus's caught fire due to a gearbox oil 'incident'.  It's just a shame my former brother-in-law wasn't tied up in the boot at the time, as I'd have doused the fucking thing with petrol.

I was looking at one of those Nissans as a family car a few years ago.  They seemed to be horrifically rusty and not just on the chassis.

Anything that’s 10 years newer than a Defender but more rusty is probably A Bad Thing, was my conclusion

I find this so strangely alluring. The AX doesn't usually interest me much, but there is something about that one?

I guess it's carbed?

If it wasn't for the stupid house purchase constantly messing up over a whole frickin' year, I'd be enquiring to get it to me. ?

I'd imagine a G reg one is Carb as is pre cat. 

It looks like its sold though. He's had an offer he's accepted.

That Rover 827 is a complete babe.

It lacks an MOT though — expired a couple of weeks ago, with advisories last year for rust and an exhaust blow:

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):

  • Oil leak, but not excessive Engine (8.4.1 (a) (i))
  • Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (6.1.2 (a))
  • Underside has general corrosion
  • Sill lips have general corrosion


Still would though. Hard.

Ahhh the good* old magna. One can only assume Sochiro had been experimenting with class As when he decided to bung the engine from his flagship sportsbikes into a chassis with the handling characteristics of a drunken hippo.

He certainly was on class As when he designed the cam chain system for the vf range which can charitably be called hysterically bad. Coupled with chocolate camshaft the vf  range suffered in concert with the equally hysterical cam chain system on the cbx550 and early cx500 (which to be fair did mature into the couriers favourite) nearly sent Honda motorcycles bankrupt , presumably only sales of 250 wetdreams, cg125s and c90's fending off financial apocalypse.

In short the seller of the magna needs a shift kick in the nuts for not offering money to take Honda's worst hour away
