What was going on with the £65k taxi with grubby seats?  Listing is now removed.

I'd love to see a clattery old XUD shoved in that, with the fuel pump turned up so it rolls coal everywhere.

Leave all the stickers on it too.

I have an elderly xantia xud turbo with a cracking engine and box which could do the job. Pkty I dont have 8 grand to buy this. I would leave on all the electric stickers and add an odd 1.9td badge and possibly a large dirty derv sticker on it then run it on veg

"Hi mate, i've got an old Maestro here.... wee bit of rust, any idea how i can tidy it up?"

"How much is a wee bit?"

"The whole bottom half of the car"

"Hahaha, well you could just tape bits off, paint the whole bottom half a random colour and try to pretend it's meant to be like that"

"No i was....."

SURFACE RUST TO WHEEL ARCHES

No shit, sherlock,

All joking aside, i think it's a decent thing to tidy up. Properly shitey.

That's being sold by the bloke who does those kits to convert an MX-5 in to a Aerial Atom type thing, tastefully called the Exocet.

Its a pity its been 'got at'. I quite liked these as a kid in the 80s - painted white and if you squinted a bit you could pretend you were a bargain bin Roger Moore. post-20412-0-87004400-1551427793_thumb.jpg

'Barn find' Zodiac Executive which was 'possibly' used in The Sweeney. (Same car was used in the pre-Sweeney 'Regan').

But the guy doesn't know for sure if it's the Sweeney car.

How on earth could we find out?

- Well, . . . does it have the fucking registration number GJD 488J on it?

"Guv, I smell a rat. I think it's Harry The Bastard from under the railway arches. He's only trying to pass off a car as one of ours!".

— "You what??? You mean Harry The Bastard with the Roller? Get round his gaff and bring him in George, we'll teach him not to tell porkies".

(DVLA says GJD 488J not recognised.

But you could still have great fun screeching around the streets in this one regardless.

Twin exhausts too. Great to see one still around :-) The one from the TV looks to be maybe Sapphire blue).

I like that 404 pickup, but slightly concerned that a witch comes with it

^ Where have I seen that 404 before? I don't mean in the metal, but is someone on here involved with it on a thread I've missed / forgotten? Maybe it's been on ebay before. I remember the reg.

Mixed messages there. Also, it's fucked

I can't see the ad as am not on FB but would guess it's just a typo.

I checked out the 404 on Wiki to refresh my memory, - they were still being made under licence up until 1991. And I thought it was a very late imported one registered on a 80 / 81 plate!

This sort of thing fascinates me :-)

Some interesting pics of a rarely seen car in that listing.

From the front it's a bit Vauxhall PC Viscount or late 60's US GM.

Rear 3/4 is a bit early 70's big BMW, or Pug 604. If you ignore the tail-lights.

All the car you'll ever need.

Who needs four wheel drive on a daily?

Wonder what these are like to drive. Or reverse-park at Asda.

Excuse the potato pictures, I was sent these by a mate. As such this is probably in South Manchester somewhere.
