If I'm forking out 20k for a 613 it will be one of Mr Bishop's RHD ones. It's nice but not that nice.

Yeah but the RHD ones had a completely different dash. Built more to western tastes so has a big slab of wood and leather. I prefer the LHD dash, it looks more Czechoslovakian.

£45K for hopper windows?!

for those wondering its RM202, whos last entry on ian's bus stop is "2011: for sale on ebay" amusingly

(I wonder if this retains its original gearbox or not)

No if it's got hoppers it's generally a Marshall refurb so has that dreadful Allison gearbox that's so harsh it leads to halfshaft problems. There were a few that gained hoppers without the full refurb but I'd avoid all of them on aesthetic grounds alone.

The feeling of well being when whooshing along at 70 in a Rolls can only be bought for £5500. They're a bit of a wallowing old barge - they drive like a good Septic. Citreon style hydro suspension etc. They demand to be used every day as befits a proper car.

When lower order stuff like Rover P6's and Triumph 2500's are apparently worth 6 grand (They're not. But idiots pay that) it's bizarre that useable Shadows and Series 3 XJ's are worth the same. Apparently because Rover/Triumph buyers are too shit scared 'because they cost too much to fix'.

Well, 'twas ever thus. Those with balls and/or funds only.

You can't go by the 'worth' bollox. You'd be hard pressed to get a good Fiat 500 for £5500, so go figure. People have always been daft, so what?

If those Royces are a real alternative to a good yank, then that's all I need to know. I only hope they aren't like Mercedeses, because that would be just awful and I'm way too anglophile to want them end this way in my esteem. I rather have no Rolls Royce and think of them as a posh Caprice, than have one and it is as terrible as a Mercedes. Kno't I's sayin'?

I swear by The Reverend's Ready Reckoner.

There are good cars, outstanding cars. The Shadow, XJ12, early sixties Lincolns, early seventies Chrysler New Yorker. Even some BMW's but not many. All available for under ten grand in very good working condition.

Rather than worth, I use the RRR to gauge stupidity. Anyone who pays RR SS money for a Corsair 2000E is clearly a fool.

I also go on what I used to pay for cars. Decent Alfasuds for 500 quid, 635CSi's for £2500, V12 XJ-S for £1500, all good clean ones. I won't pay more than this (after figure adjusted for inflation) because they are no better now than they were then.

If I were after a 90s three litre waftbarge just for the heck of it, I'd be all over those Hyundai XG30s and piss on scene tax.

Finding one might be a bit challenging, but what's not to hate?

FOAD should have his new acquisition ready in about 72 hours minutes on current performance; correctly geared as well.

That wants the 1725 removing for something worthwhile and the rest cubing. Nobody will miss it.

I would, I like those piles of shite even if Mrs BMH would kill me for buying one.

Fortunately I've just seen that, I was in Holmfirth this afternoon, dangerously close...

How the fuck has that Minor ended up in Copart? Fucksakes!

Private punter has entered it.

"Engine does not start"

That'll cost 50 quid to fix then. Might be rotten as well.

Yes.

The Oxford's future life will be measured in laps, not years.
