That's the first W124 that has ever appealed to me. I think I just like any car if its gold with brown carpet

Cort that A2 has been on eBay a couple of times - advert said it had engine issues.

Yeah avoid like the plague, the 1.6fsi is a giant turd of an engine, the 1.4 is better and there still not great.

I've got friends who have an 04 WRC Impreza. They've had it for 12 years and decided to change it this year. Rather than chop it in against their new car they decided to sell it on gumtree for a few extra ££.

3 days dealing with WRX "specialists" on gumtree was enough for them to sell it to we buy any car.

New injectors

New oil pump
New clutch
New starter motor
Full service and then oil and filter after 100 miles

Now Has developed a tapping noise

Probably just a woodpecker m8, give Chris Packham a call, he'll sort it

A W124 still hasn't appealed to you. That's a 190e ( W201?) .

Isn't a 190 and a W124 the same thing? I don't understand Mercedes, the cheapest smallest one looks identical to the biggest most expensive one (or used to, anyway)

Tidy-looking (if inappropriately-wheeltrimmed) Bluebird

no beaded seat cover for the full minicab look......

therefore i'm out.

no, the 190's code is W201, whereas the e-class thing is W124.

see? different......

plus the W124 is loads bigger than a W201

Stop it now, that's not funny, my eyes have only just recovered from that 'camper' and now you show us that!

Its not every day (or year) where we can show Mr. Barrett anything, but confusing and similarly dis-interesting they may be, the main visual difference in W201/W124 is at the back.  Like MM said, one is bigger than the other but like Father Ted's faraway cow that doesn't help when there is only one to look at.

W201...(only sold as 190/190D/190E) d

W124 (sold as 200 through to 500E and many boring stops in between)   These cars survived the switch that threw Mercedes from a quality car maker to a shit car maker so they may be seen with slightly less prominent grilles and the badges switched, like this one, to E300 rather than 300E.   They're still W124s though...

The other pointer is that W201s are usually, but not always, slightly less rustier than W124s.

Wow, there you go. I always assumed the one on the bottom replaced the one on the top. Consider me corrected!

In fairness, I am only just coming round to the idea that a W123 (see, I know what that is!) is an actual 'old car' as they are still so common, so anything after that is just a sort of amorphous blob as far as I'm concerned

But it's XCLUSIVE

Probably very because hopefully there's only one
