My old Cav 4x4 was an 8v 2.0 L spec. The redtop Gsi it replaced was like an F1 car in contrast, and, funnily enough, I never forgave it for not being a Gsi. It was as dull as dishwater.

Theres a base 4x4 near me:

WTF is that shit?!

All that effort, and the legs to hold it up have just been tacked on! Also seems like the wheels aren't even attached, just leaned against it.

Whoever created that, and whoever ends up buying it, can GET IN THE FUCKING SEA.

5500 my hairy arse!!! What a crock. I hope it came with a fully rebuilt engine & box for that price!

4x4s here were either 2.0'L' (like that one) or the GSi, iirc.

Presumably they were expecting sales to police etc.; emergency service personnel always have better morale and work harder when surrounded by vinyl, cheap plastic and blanking plates.

Weren't the 4x4 systems on these Cavs prone to tantrums if tyre wear was uneaven?

This is nice.  A little overpriced I think given its condition, but probably a pretty decent steer as pre-war cars go.

Why?  You have a perfectly good Lotus for doing just that.

Good point.

Oh wow. I now have a pressing want for a Peugeot Maillet Eric, which is what that hopelessly shambolic camper is.

You bastard.

^^ What a fantastic mish-mash of bits. From the side in that pic it looks like someone's built on an extension.

From the other side it looks more disappointingly normal but still very odd.

I'd like to go on holiday in one.

Oh wow, I had an SX5 20-odd years ago.  Bought from a flea market for about 30 quid.  Never did manage to get it running, and eventually the bloke who looked after the communal bike shed where I'd parked it got pissed off and demanded that it disappear.  It wasn't anywhere near as nice as that one, but I do remember the odd angular crank case covers.

Very nice but very expensive 4x4 Cavalier

He says it's the 130, I always thought these were the C20NE so 115/118 horses.

It's a 1989 model so 130 BHP is correct.  The one's with the grey bumpers had an SEH.  A mate of mine had one for 15 years. Totally reliable and very surefooted and fairly quick. Never had a problem with the transfer box.

^^^^ I dont believe that..... no-one could possibly own one of those for more than about 6 months and not need to replace the transfer box. i think he was bullshitting you!!!

I reckon those are the most chocolatey bit of car hardware ever to reach the general public
