No they're interference, older ones were non. They also have a chain and not a cambelt!!

 

Engines are expensive I presume because they keep shitting themselves and there's a demand for decent replacements

I believe they're pretty robust if looked after. The bottom ends and tensioners can go if oil level gets too low though. Given its a modern, you can guess what happens as they get older and cheaper.

 

We put 70k odd on one and never had a single bit of problems.

I heard they can use a bit of oil and if not checked regularly then BOOM.

It’s generally complete and has a lot of good usable parts on it, I’d say it’s pretty much complete. Engine turns freely with handle. Steering is free.

1948. V5 logbook is present.

Though I must say I also own a Tragic petrol which I like. These have  separate gearbox and diff sumps which often get neglected. Needs a new gb but MOT.
