A two grand Porsche 928, what could possibly go wrong? 8)

And I'm not at all put off by the extra wires hanging down under the dash.....

Hmm, this could now go on a classic policy.

100 2.8 Quattro Auto Avant - A good strong, reliable car with 5 months tax & 12 months MOT

Seems honest enough at £220. It might just end at a sensible price - too old to catch the eye of modern Audi lovers, too new for the classic boys.

I think that must be the most gorgeous looking car that £400 can buy, (apart from the wheels), if only it was anything other than a Peugeot.

I agree - easily one of the prettiest cars of the 90's. I have to have one of these in my life at some point, ideally in metallic blue

When BMWs had the grille sloping forward they were lovely and distinctive cars. Especially with a nice wee bit of chrome here and there. 8)

A lot of W124 Mercs look like this for some reason, maybe it's the lower profile tyres and the chrome arches highlighting the edges of the body that do it.

You know I did think there was something odd looking about that. I wonder what the story is? Maybe it's been fitted with diesel springs or something.

64,000,000 word advert with a MEGATRON level of twattery about 'family 2 engines' and other suchs hit, yet he lists this as a Cavalier SRi 130 which it isn't. It's not even 130BHp, ffs, I think the Ecotec (i.e what's in this one) was 150.

You're right Billy, it's not a Cavalier 130 - that had the 8-valve 130 bhp C20SEH engine. This one has the later X20XEV 16-valve Ecotec engine which is 136 bhp and fairly torquey.

On another note - anyone else noticed how this thread has changed from being a really useful cheap chod spottage tool to a place where autoshiters point & laugh at illiterate mongs & hopeless 'projects'?

A shame, this :(

I love this thread, I suspect it provides 90% of the entertainment of the whole forum! It does in my case anyway, I love laughing at the sheer abject stupidity of many ebay users. And to be fair it does throw up lots of top-grade 4-wheeled faecal matter as well.

I enjoy this thread mostly for:

* Utterly hopeless projects advertised by delusional fanbois

* appallingly carried out repairs and modifications

* laughable half-arsed advertising techniques (photographing the dashboard through a closed rain-splashed window)

* ham-fisted attempts at ‘amateur vehicle trading’

* forgotten motors popping up out of nowhere.

Yeah I'm with Bol on this one. I too enjoy all of the above, alongside the chod spottage. That W124 looks a barg at that money, and the monster truck suspension may prove to be handy on the Edinburgh cobbles when I'm late for work. - the 18mpg would make me cry however.

There are plenty of eminently fistable old motors on this thread (including that 406 V6 koop which looks a lot like mine but IS MILES FUGGIN CHEAPER).

However, if I was to condense some of the recent highlights I'd probably come up with this:

Then I'd weld my diff and a wall would fall on me.

Me too. There's still plenty of cars we might actually buy, as well.

Have a super-cheap but stylish* Honda to cheer you up.

I am tempted to buy this so this so-called one off can be 'lost' forever

Are people bidding for a bet?

'The car attracts crowds of admiring girls and their envious boyfriends/husbands. Built on the famously robust race and rally-winning rear-engined Skoda chassis'

This car looks like a bit like a bird in silver jeggings with a fucking massive arse. You know the sort, the ones who you see outside Aldi shoving Cheese and Cockwand flavoured crisps down their sizeable cakeholes in the back of a Toyota Estima before helping their dole cheat dad out of his dole cheat car into his dsability scooter so he can peg it round and snaffle up all the out of date Mars bars and donuts, because let's face it when you're a fat stig you need more shit food.

'James Dean's cost over £1,000,000.00'

As comparisons go that's like me drawing a cock and balls on a bog wall and comparing it to Monet's water lilies.
