Plate worth ££££'s.

Ideal if your name is Suzie etc

Interestingly it also says because it's been scrapped, it can never be re-registered. Never knew this was the case...

That's because it ain't. I've twice put cars back on the road that were registered as scrapped before...

^ wot he sed. I'm sure I read on another thread that someone had spoken to DOOVLA and they said only the case where a "Certificate of Destruction" had been issued. If not you have a chance but like anything you need to speak to the right person. IE the right answer is there it's getting to speak to the right person!

Have to say, thats the most I've twitched over something on ebay for ages. Serious wantage. These have lifted a lot in value over the last couple of years.. they were all sub grand only 4 or 5 years ago. Shame I'm skint!

The LPG'd S80 has been up for sale for ages from some reason. The advert says "needs a service", which is probably code for "suffers undiagnosable random engine shut down".

Can't go too wrong for £350 quid though!

This E30 isn't so far barried up it couldn't be saved and turned in a nice car. It's probably rotten though.

This is local, the right colour (for Martini stripes) and I've just become the highest bidder.

If it is indeed tidy, the Posh may get a few squids. Best of luck mate!

Is this a heart or a head influenced bid? 8)

Head? You must be kidding :D

Where was that thread about modern cars being too complex and unreliable? The antidote is surely these low-mileage repmobiles of old. What could be better? Well, perhaps only that 8k mile TD Xantia that sold last month. Interestingly these are all four-door saloons, that old giffer shape of choice.

1.6 Envoy - Mk3 Cavs don't come more basic than this.

Hiding in the spare parts section is this little beauty - lovely shade, that Nordic Blue.

To finish, a honey of a Verona.

That Mondeo is fabulous, but will somebody seriously cough up a couple of grand for it?

Posted

All 3 of those should be in the ebay bargains thread!

The Mondeo is nice, those Mk1 saloons looked great with the lower boot line and the black strip between the lights. You just know some poor old giffer has been given £250 for it part ex though as those old Mondeos are not worth a bean mate.

I don't think so. You can look at it two ways. As 'emerging classics' to mothball, probably not - none are exciting enough variants really. But as cars you could put 20k/year in for five years or so with minimal outlay - and quite possibly for 10 years if you get the Waxoyl out now and then - then they suddenly look like value to me.

They're barely run-in, after all. This'd be a problem for new 'uns what with coking up of valves and that, but I reckon these are low-tech enough to respond well to a good thrapping and being reliable for the long haul.

It would probably be sacrilege to do this to the Mk2 Cav, but the Mk3 or the Mond' would be ideal. They lack a/c but that's about for things I'd need, simple to keep going and should do an honest 40mpg on a motorway cruise.

Posted

Trouble is Mike, cars that are barely used are just as likely, if not more so to go wrong and need repairs. If you want something for everyday use why pay £2k for a Mondeo when you could buy one for £500 and it will do the same thing.

SLIGHT KNOCK COMING FROM ENGINE BUT STILL RUNS FINE

Probably nothing to worry about then. Is some oil pickup sludging issue that does all these Saabs in?

These fat arse Megane's are starting to look like good value for money. This one's 600 quid and the windows don't work.
