is it just me, but £5k seems damn cheap for a jaguar saloon, even in jewish racing beige?

i take it that it is rotten to the core.....

It's got a years mot and is described as being usable . The interior points to it not having too hard a lift .

This is very similar to my old Novaquatre, except it's a 1.5 sidevalve lump instead of a 2.4, so will be completely gutless.  Also, although it's a RHD, it looks like the starter button is still in the LH footwell, which would entail impaling one's bollocks on the gear lever every start-up.

It also looks to have missed out on the funky C-pillar mounted indicators that the Novaquatre (and pretty much every other Renault up to 1950) was fitted with, and I don't think the Celtas had power-assisted brakes either.

Still would though, if I wasn't skint.

Only the 3.8s cost money. All others can be downright bargains, especially the late pov spec versions like this one, or the Daimler flavoured ones, which are better cars anyway. Few people know, that despite sharing the bodyshells, the Daimlers are different cars altoghether, not only engine-wise. These run-out models were dumped on the market at discount prices, a 340 was sold cheaper than a Rover 2000. There are trade-offs, though. They had Ambla instead of leather, inferior quality wood, carpets, instrumentation, keep fit everything, grilles instead of auxiliary driving lights, no chrome trim around the screens and IMO actually better looking slimline bumpers. Thus they obviously are the shiters' choice anyway.

TBH, I find it actually overpriced at 5k.

This looks cheap at a grand even though there's no MOT and some clutch woes. I can't quite put my finger on why it's so cheap.

I mean it looks smart and he's done a load of work for the MOT.

I think this may actually be worse than a Trotter Special

Seems to have a massive front wheel as well. Thought they always ran 10 inch wheels up front.

Yeah it's been on and off, don't know what's up with it. I managed to get hold of him recently and gave him a deposit.

That news has made my day!

1) because it's been brought in-house

2) I don't have to think about it anymore

Depressingly, there's quite a few bits on this that are actually better than bits of mine....

I sometimes look at pictures on ebay and by the damp miserable look of the surroundings I know it's in Scotland.

I've never been much of a fan of Marina saloons but I recon they got the Coupe just right.
