I've long rated the BMC diesel and gearbox in the Austin Gypsy over the Rover effort, but the all-steel Gypsy body was not only fuck ugly but mega rot prone. Someone's built themselves a hybrid here with a gypsy chassis (tell tales are the chassis members and the steering box) and running gear with a very early and now desirable '58 Series 2 LR body. I would love this, not least for the froth that will erupt from the "council of rivets" when you clatter up to one of their events in it. Mwah ha ha ha ha!!!

'council of rivets' - brill phrase; apposite, sums those rivet counters up perfectly ! (ooh that's a pre-1957 nadger nut, should be a post 1961 knurled nadger on this model)
