Frontera...therefore must own it.

And a Sintra - actual stuff fell off these as you drove along.

I've now got the horn for a Cavalier. I'm tempted by this one, which is much nearer me:

Looks a decent shout for the money. The 8 valve was the better engine in terms of the fact that it was utterly unbreakable, and would do galactic miles with total neglect.

The ecowreck isn't as tolerant, but its not a terrible engine

Hmm seems I have bought this. 330 quid. Collection mission Wednesday.

This is a relist and 'sold' for £265 in September. I was kicking myself for not having a bid so looks like I've got a second chance, cheers!

A genuine Jetta Syncro!!!!! Now that must be super rare.

At present it has a tripple A engine from a mk3 golf and I have changed the timing chains.I didnt do any head work so hence it burns a bit of oil

Good start that, I like to get a project going by fitting a worn out version of a shit heavy ass engine in the engine bay.

At the moment the jetta is only TWO wheel drive  not 4x4 as I took the rear axle from the same mk 3 golf.

Righto so you've sacked off the cars most interesting feature, yep, I'm with you so far

The car has a different carpet in the back (black)as the old grey one was damaged when it was parked up also the car has no head lining as this started to sag so I removed it but did not get round to replacing it.

Another great job!!!! GET THIS GUY A BEER

That Carlton a page back is surely worth it for the upholstery alone!:

Looks like one for that 'comfy interior' thread. Surprised that the Diplomat would come with a vegan interior though,.

Looks like my old Escort is up for sale. It was and still seems to be a nice little car:

I think velour was a no cost option on Diplomats as cow was standard. That's the first I've seen with velour actually but we had a CD spec one for a bit with it and it was mega comfortable.

I had a CDXi and despite looking this comfortable, it wasn't.

Springing was way too stiff and hence the ride too harsh.

Same with the Senator CD I had.

Comfortable is different. Comfortable is a Scorpio.

I thought my Carlton had a weird slightly off set driving position. I dunno if it was something to do with the rhd conversion but it always felt a bit odd.

Posted

They have the typically yank driving position with the steering wheel almost vertical and relatively close to your chest.

I actually quite like that.

Beach Buggy pick up anyone? Just the thing for the winter, not as expensive as I'd have thought either.

Is it very wrong to quite like that?

I'm especially taken with the idea of an LDV beach buggy, although sadly it turns out that just means 'light delivery vehicle' rather than being a GRP-rebodied Convoy.
