There was an identical Alvis that resided in the driveway of a house in Scumhampton for at least 15 years or more! It was chained to the driveway with chains looped over the axles to stop it being stolen/hiabed away!

Good evening 'shiters!

 

I'm a long time reader here, but not posted until I saw this vision from the past.

 

I'd totally forgotten about it until I saw this but fordnut is right and I'm almost 100% sure that is the same car that was on that driveway in Winchester Road Southampton. I use to drive past it on the way to college in 1997-98, I reckon it was there whilst I was at school too, so it could have stood for 20yrs.

 

I knew it was rare and probably worth something, so I was always intrigued about why it would be left to rot that. Would love to know the true story behind it!

Bugger. I'm pissed and lobbed a bid on this, and have ended up the winning bidder. Good job it's only in East London, I'll collect it after work next week. Will watch the temp gauge like a hawk!
