My brother used to drive one of those LD's back in the day.

I prefferred the Austin EA. Flying machines. I used to drive one for the Initial Laundry.

I thought that was a 200 at first, then realised that it's a Sport that has been wheel raped and some 200 rims put on to replace the Fuchs.

The important thing is that it's a 5E, and that means, that even in scientific terms, it's fucking fast.

Here is one with correct pedal count and sufficient boot space for a house move, but sadly it has slippery seats that give you rheumatism in British climate.

You just can't win.

That Avant looks identical to one Mrs N had nearly 20 years ago. It had the hens teeth option of the rear facing bench and had cloth seats, unfortunately it was powered* by an 1800 carb. Golf engine so needed everyone of its 5 manual gears to pull itself along.

I do have fond memories of a 100CS Auto on a trip to Biarritz, we were travelling with friends in a Sapphire Cosworth ,which shot off from every Peage like a scalded cat ,leaving me in its dust. But once up to about 120 the Audi just sat there solid as rock with no noise or drama, and most importantly without Mrs N realising how fast I was going.

At a fuel stop,my mate came over and asked if we could slow down a bit ,because his Sierra was drinking fuel alarmingly and his girlfriend was complaining about the noise , unfortunately he wasn't German!

Guys just as an FYI, I might be gone for a while as my laptop has packed up, I'll try to be back as soon as possible

I quite like the look of that Mk1 Granny, but to live up to the twin pipes and 18" wheels the engine should have come from Cleveland not Dagenham.
