My parents had a red one of these when I passed my test in 1994 so this was the first car I ever drove on the road legally. On that first night, I hit a parked Rover 200 next to me when reversing out of a parking space outside Spar, did over 100 mph on the A259 and was then pulled over in Worthing for driving out of Montague Place with no lights on. My driving has improved since then (slightly).

£5,950 auto (not my thang), and it doesn't even come on the wheels in the picture.

Its an auto too. £850 with the personal plate (OMG ££££!!!!) and the velour interior.

 

Okay the top one does look lovely in the photos but I don't this there is £5k difference between the two.

Was advertised last week but took it off. Sorry but I do not want to swap for your Ford Fiesta or take £300 cash for it!

 

 

Should've taken the cash - even if that is something like a £800 loss on the previous sale...

A 1500 Maxi is a 4 speed as well IIRC. The gearchange was really woeful on these. Which is a shame because everything else was pretty good (for 1969).

 

I used to get lifts home from school in SVJ141H, an olive green Mini Countryman.

 

Edit: I think I must have imagined the four speed / 1500 thing, not mentioned in the AR Online "Maxi development story"
