Yum!

The engine is fuel injected (Bosch Jet Tronic coupled to a three speed automatic transmission - all standard

ECU sent to Australia for complete rebuild ($1200.00)

Bet a 1972 ECU is a pretty interesting piece of kit to work with. Still think it's a potential bargain at £2275 BIN.

Yeah, I would be tempted by that if I could clear the Frontera any time soon.

I notice that the price has been changed from £1100 to £0 on that Sierra advert I wonder what that means?.

How much postage does it cost to send something that's hanging off the Earth upside down to up here?

What about a Renault GTA? Surely the autoshiters supercar. Imagine a cross between a Corvette and a 911. Made in France.

No image at all in the UK so Ã‚£5k should find a few.

Really good to drive, really comfortable for a sportscar, best driving position I have ever experianced.

No silly technology,  easy to keep going especially if you avoid the Turbo.

Daftest windscreen wipers and door handles ever!

This was mine, and here it is after I started a rebuild, got carried away with the dismantling process,

attachicon.gifIMG.jpg

gave up and sold the bits to a hillclimber.

Yeah, but what about this:

Pretty average dashboard for an eighties Renault n'est-ce-pas?

Anyone for a "shitest dashboard ever" thread?

These diesel engines have a stinking reputation. I like the way the injector pump is fitted in the distributor position.

How can you say the GTA has a bad dashboard? have you not seen the fuel gauge? or heard electronic beeps of the indicators? It's awesome.

Fuel gauge = car driving to petrol pump

Okay I agree its subjective. I HATE it though. I was considering buying one a few years back but bailed when I saw the dash as could not face sitting behing that on a daily basis.

*EDIT* Whats that trip computer saying? You have used up 4.1g in 18 miles/minutes? (never had a trip computer before - possible stupidity alert)

Just noticed that if you click on some Autotrader links in this topic, the page that opens displays a postcode, presumably the postcode entered into Autotrader by whoever made the post here.

Possibly something to watch if you are keen to protect your anonymity?

Some other links just insert my own postcode but eg the Vauxhall Carlton one doesn't. WTF?

Sorry can't help you: that gadget didn't work on mine.

If I wanted to know how much petrol I had, I could open the bonnet and have a look, just like checking brake fluid. (Transparent tank)

I hope that copart Granada isn't eddyramrod's old one.

That did cross my mind but his was a 2500 and it had white walls.

I think the GTA's dash is quite cool!

Does he import sunshine from the Bahamas? How does he manage it? I mean I have solar PV and know exactly how often and for how long the sun has shone since December and the answer is not often and not for very long at all.

Given the bushy green trees in the background I would almost defiantly say these are not current photos of the granny!!!
