Start the conversation with your mrs about how you’ve put a bid on this decommissioned 737 for 120 grand

Then you turn the conversation around to you’d actually prefer an old Land Crab or something, she’ll agree in a heartbeat

If my lottery win comes in, I'd be having that to convert to a house.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't need planning permission to stick it on a bit of land, as it's on wheels would it be classed as a mobile home?

Yes. Just slightly out of my future budget for a daily driver. But less than my sister spent on a brand new fiesta a couple of years back, so justifiable if I had the cash. .and didn't want to retire one day.

Kadetts were sold here for a while, I remember a m9 totalled his (gf's mum's) on the A22

Even when the Opel/Vauxhall model merger occurred, you could still buy an Opel Ascona rather than a Mark 1 Cavalier; uncle of mine had one (1.6SR, I recall and I think, on a roughly-similar age plate). Another uncle had a Mk. 1 Astra-shaped Kadett but that I know was one of the then-fashionable "personal imports" of the early 80s.

The '65 Corona has me incredibly tempted but I don't think there's room for it in my life at the moment.
