But.

No seat belts, no headrests. Passenger has a short flight then a beautiful scalloped metal edge, or the windscreen. Driver has a flimsy metal wheel to take their teeth out on the way to the scalloped metal edge, if they’re lucky. Hard pointy chrome knobs or lever if not. But that’s the least of their worries as any pace and the steering wheel sheers from the column shaft spearing you through.

These things (the cars of this ilk) were genuinely lethal in 5mph bumps. Times have changed, and in good part due to Nader. Interestingly, one of the Nader clan was on one of the downed Boeing maxes. They are publicly unhappy...
