What is the tough little Soviet-era truck in post 15? Because "want"!

Some of the wool folk are really shit at colour matching, I wouldn't have them repaint my car.

Perfect way to spend a sleepless night. Cars and wool,eh? Who'd of thunk it? The internet is indeed a weird and wonderful place. At least you didn't end up selling a car through lack of sleep like wot I did, doh! Is that first Black Granada estate stretched, or are they all that humungous?

Its American - Jeep FC-150, basically a forward control Jeep.   They also built them in S. America and Spain under licence so possibly one of those....

Looks like a mortuary car (first-call rather than actual hearse)   Coleman Milne did stretch Granny estates over here (the Windsor) but they were stretched in the rear doors.

What mercrocker said.

It’s a mk1 estate conversion into a hearse (or similar useage). The estate section is stretched a bit along with the estate glass windows being longer than standard.

As far as I know they’re a continental thing and we didn’t get them over here like that. There seem to be a few around in the Netherlands as they and other similar style mk1 hearses turn up quite often on the Emmen banger track.

I think the closest we had in the U.K. was a mk1 conversion which retained the rear passenger seats and had a conversion in the boot area to carry the coffin. Almost like a hearse - limo hybrid!

These are lovely!

Us vacuum collectors recently found a Facebook group where Bell ringers at churches post pictures of the vacs they find. Fully innocent yet utterly amazing!

Will show this to my stepmum, she's a hardcore yarn-er

I was just about to post exactly the same thing.

Some of them are spot on, but others are so wrong it's almost as if the wool botherer just isn't trying (or is totally feckless).

They're kind of limited to what wool they have in their current stash. It's not like they're dying bespoke wool to match (though my missus would) Probably quite like us a a few of them think MEH, THATS CLOSE ENOUGH.

That Austin Atlantic must get photographed everywhere it goes.   Here it is in the car park near our High Street:

That's the ex-AngryDicky Atlantic isn't it?

Some of these photos are high art and I'll fight anyone that disagrees with me on that point.

Doesn't the SD1 belong to Lightbulbfan's neighbour? I remember him posting a picture of it.

Yeah, he recognised the Rover as a local car when posted under #yarnandoldcars last year - then went back and made his own version with a light bulb the same shade.

That's the kind of attitude that lost us the Empire (harrumph, etc.)

Imagine if heart surgeons used old LHM pumps on that basis? People would be ON THEIR ARSES leaking green fluid.

I think I would have had a dangling piece of wool on the blue Cortina being towed, looking like my hand and wool where picking it up.

All artistic like!
