For me I believe it would have been a Vauxhall victor FB. My dad had nothing but a series of Victor's until he defected to leyland with a princess in 1977.

I came home from hospital in a taxi in 1980. My sister came home in a merc w115. 

Fast forward a good few years and my daughter came home from hospital in 2018 in my rather tired out K reg lancia dedra.

My sister was brought home in a 1986 VW Passat estate (D177BRP I think)...like this:

Probably an Austin Mini van, ACA354B.  Because in 1965, that was deemed 'safer' than a sidecar attached to the left of a Triumph T110*...
