As a stopgap to a slightly better car......

I wouldn't, but then my requirements are different to yours, and almost everyone else's.  It might suit you down to the ground, or it might viciously rob you of all your savings.  It's a gamble.

Lovely colour though.

at 850 (or less) for a car of that age, there's only so wrong you can go, providing it doesn't detonate, you should get most the money back even if there's a few faults.

providing it's got some sore of decent history service/maintenance wise then i wouldn't be too scared of it as a stopgap.

I've noticed that place has some rather cheap cars, so go and have a look and report back.

As a stop gap though Shirley the answer is a Jag or something equally ridiculous.

Alternately my 205TD, I keep forgetting I'm trying to sell it.

I reckon for that price, with 11 months MOT, you’d have a years happy* motoring from this.

It’s also a great shade of frog, which is worth 800 of the £850 they’re asking for it.

I think 2 services in 10 years is about average for a Renault so yes buy it as quickly as possible.

Just check the seller's terms first. They are a car auction and that £850 is the reserve price and not necessarily the price that it will sell at, so it may or may not be such a bargain. On the other hand a seller which proudly shows its P reg Volvo artic transporter on its website can't be all bad

Thought I recognised the background. The car auction where there doesn't seem to be a car auction, just fixed price motors. I'd avoid that particular car and seller to be honest, they've told you absolutely nothing about it and used the old 'usual car auction terms/conditions apply'.  Either go to an auction in person or buy from a dealer or private punter.

Yo Hairnet - why don't you get NJGLeeds car finding services on the case? As a professional he can probably get you a better deal.

^^^WHS.

The only way the overall buyer experience at Radcliffe car auctions could be improved upon would be if they were to go into partnership with Motorhub of Keighley.

They make Arnie Clark look like Tom Hartley.

I really don’t understand it - why not buy a known trusted banger from here?

Having a later plate/model isn’t worth the risk of it being a pile of arse.
