53 plate. I didn't realise these had been out that long. The years just fly over.

I remember a ripple of excitement at our old work when we heard we were getting one of those new connects.

Mind you, our fiesta courier was fubar.

More details on "a bit temperamental"? Because that looks like a bargain...

Great value for money that, pretty sure without a test it'll do not far off that price anyway, so a 'no brainer' of a buy.

Obvs. like the best thing about these vans are the fact they replaced the Escort, truly one of the most miserable/hateful piles of shit to ever (dis)grace the roads.

A mate had one of those as his daily driver. Very occasionally needed to move stuff but actually just liked the running costs, who-gives-a-shit looks and the £20 in his pocket every time someone said "any chance you could...."

Yes of course - so the van locks however takes major jiggling about to get the van to unlock again. This maybe down to that common trait of a worn key as ford keys do have a tendancy to wear and this key is quite worn

Ten quid eBay remote locking kit will sort that assuming the ignition lock works OK. I put one on a a Golf and it was ace.

I had a 52 plate one of those did nearly 200k on the first engine, bloody good van

I remember a customer of ours turning up in his shiny new Connect in 2002 or so, and proudly showing it off to the lads working there. He wasn't quite so happy when we came to load it, and he realised that the tailgate option made it rather difficult to load with a forklift!

I love my Connect, one of the best motors I've bought. 5 years on and I'm still smiling about it.

(It is petrol engined however)

As Cavcraft said this is a total bargain when you can pay around that for a spares and repair job. The low mileage for its age is a real bonus too.

My Dad owns a 06 Connect T220. It has plenty of torque even when loaded up and will sit on a outside lane bothering Audi's no problem! They handle well when pushed and reckons his has the best breaks of any Van he had.

I'm sure if you kept it till Mot time and it gets through ok you could easily sell it on for £800+ see Gumtree etc, so free motoring!

Yeah, love these...very tempted...but I think I'll let someone else have this mega bargain and wait for a petrol one or a crewvan/tourneo.

I'm guessing this doesn't have sliding door on the side?

Or do they all have at least one?

I think that might have been a longer wheelbase version?? This only has the double (barn-style) doors at the rear,

Thanks,
