2.3 LD GR8 4 BEIN 2MPG MORE ECONOMICAL THAN THE 1.8 PETROL BUT AS SLOW AS TIME ITSELFThey launched a turbocharged intercooled version in the UK when the Carlton had a facelift late in its life, they're very rare.

The rear view of that Peugeot 104 Estate reminds me of the early eighties Mazda 323 Estate

Those Peugeot estates (particularly the 205) look great! Surely they would've sold zillions?

Posted

Bloody hell wonder why peugeot never put the 309 or 205 estates/breaks into production? I can only assume they feared it would eat into 505 and 405 sales. The 405 estate seems to be a popular car for window cleaners/decorators. Still plenty of them living on round here.

The 205 and 104 estates look more practical than the useless Clio estate, which is the one of the only supermini "estates" in production I think. It just looks like a 5-door hatch with roof rails

I didn't realise FSO produced a Polonez estate

Them wheels are giving me dirty thoughts!

Going off topic a bit here but I've just bought a set of 6x13 Auto Stihl Grifo Alloys for my 02 that need painting and been thinking about what colour to do them.

Not sure whether to go silver, grey or white, At the moment they are lacquered over chrome on the rims and spokes with grey in the centre and between the spokes.

Also can't decide If to leave the centre caps of and see if the chrome hub sets of the original steels fit or just fit the plastic centre caps that come with them and paint them...

Hmmm, I expect I may be killed for saying this but if it's the only UK spec one left, why try to make it look like a Japanese-spec one, therfore destroying it's uniqueness?

'Cos it's mine, I bought it, and I can. And it looks a lot better for it. It isn't the only UK spec one left, just the only one on the road in the UK. They came the same in Japan, I just fitted some period alloys and lowered it a bit :)Oh, and i've also got another one, standard, albeit in not as good condition. Not on the road like, but there just in case
