Offering it up here first, for obvious reasons!

2004 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 in a semi scrambler type style.

It was modified by the previous owner and has some nice bits added.

Off the top of my head it has:

Boyer Powerbox (does away with the original reg/rec)

Longer Koni shocks

Trails tyres

Ally mudguards

Extended centre and side stands to compensate for longer shocks and increased profile of the tyres.

Ally sumpguard and a few other nice touches like the rack which was made by the previous (fabricator) owner as well as the headlight guard and lucas rep back light.

It runs well and was laid up for about 7 months earlier this year- on starting it had absolutely no wet sumping issues which I think for one of these is a good indication of a fit engine.

In my ownership I have probably covered less than 300 miles so it has to go really. Age old story of life getting in the way etc...

New gel battery fitted a couple of weeks ago.

It's quite an event riding the thing with the vibration and lack of pace but its a hoot all the same!

12 Months MOT as of last week.

It's not immaculate and has a few petrol marks on the tank but it is all in keeping (I think) with the faux classic looks/experience.

Speedo has packed up but I think this is almost definitely just a cable due to it dancing around prior to stopping working.

Front indicators do not match the rear due to a bike/garage wall interface and I needed some at short notice for the MOT- Easily and cheaply sorted if it bothers you.

Happy to answer any questions and you're more than welcome to come and view it/take it up the road.

Shiters price- £1695

Obviously, I'll chuck some cash into the Autoshite coffers.

Thanks all

Damn, that’s a looker. I would say roffle it, but at £28.7288135593 per ticket, I don’t think it’d be very effective.

Good luck with the sale - wish I had the justifiable sponds right now.

I've had a 350, they look right, sound right, vibrate right, and are horrendously slow.

Wish I'd bought a 500.

Thanks for all the nice comments folks.

Mally- I doubt the 500 offers much in the way of improved performance!

Red5- I'm based in Bromsgrove but have been on a few blats over to Worcester. It's happiest on B roads to be honest so usually head through Ombersley/Holt Fleet/Hallow.

Bewdley is lovely- I used to visit friends who had a flat on the riverside near the Black Boy pub.

I must be getting old but I'm thinking this would make a good stable mate for my 03 R1...

Bromsgrove you say? have you given it a run down the A448 to the best* pub in Redditch?

I haven't had the pleasure* though went there a few times as a kid when it was a cinema. Doesn't look too bad for a Spoons!

They've made a nice job of repainting the RE emblem on the side of the last remaining building from the old factory on the industrial estate just around the corner.

I've only lived in Redditch a few years so I never knew it as a cinema, but I'd say it's definitely pretty good for a spoons. Seems cheap too, even by their standards, but then I moved from that London so everything is. They've got at least one bike mounted on the wall inside, and some RE-themed artwork and bits, so there's certainly worse places for a pint. Like all their pubs though, much more pleasant on a tuesday afternoon than a friday night...

I'll have to keep a look out for that RE emblem, can't say I've noticed it before.

It's not me but I wish it was. I know these are terrible but I'm absolutely dying to own one and this is simply gorgeous. I'll keep an eye open for it if it crosses the pond ;-)

It only has one seat. If it had 2 seats I'd have still not bought it.

Must be an age thing, I'm loving this and am looking forward to the imminent 650 Interceptor (rubs thighs!).

The new twin does look to be a lovely machine. Any indication on price yet?

Think I read about £6k but that was last year. I hope the delay is so they get it right 1st time with no or only minor issues.

Seriously considering one, certainly have a test ride.

That is very lovely. My plan when I started riding was to get an Enfield. I have neither the space or the money for a second bike I'll have to keep waiting.

On a general musing thought, I presume the idea of having one as your only bike would be a tad mad?

Depends on how you intended to use it. Short commutes or city work it would be fine and pretty economical to boot. I wouldn't advise using it for fast A road work or motorway slogging though that's for sure!

I think that's my issue, although I'm never going to do mega mileage. Living in a good road desert if I'm ever to make it to anywhere worth riding motorways and dual carriageways are always going to be the first and last part of any long day out.

One day, one day.....

The 650 is supposed to cruise at 80mph and has 6000mile service intervals so not unreasonable as an only bike. I'll be keeping my Thundercat though.
