Whereabouts are you , is this a sarfth of the river giffermobile or on the topside , chug on down to the southern shiters meet on the 25th of August near Arundel if it will make it with them triple valves and single fat spoke steering wheel . Welcome

Superb. Love how the electric window switch and surround are of a completely different material to everything else. Almost as if they were an afterthought added for the UK market! But, hey, you have electric windows so I'm impressed.

Looks great chief - welcome along!  :)

That looks bloody lovely. Same colour as the first one I ever spent any time around.

Still really fancy another one. They're just such comfy low stress cars to drive, and from what I've seen, quite easy to live with unless you get a rot box.

Never driven an auto though, be curious to see what it's like.

Just noticed the Westbrook Cars rear window sticker and rear number plate. They were east Kent's PREMIER Proton and Lada dealer back in the 1990s, though what they get up to these days is anyone's guess

This is peak autoshite. The only thing that could be better is video footage of you scraping off underseal and changing wheel bearings...!

Hmmmmmm...wish I'd filmed changing the reverse/inhibitor switch now ????

Have you killed the key in/driver's door open buzzer yet?

Think it lasted a week in mine before it drove me to distraction.

Not yet but my passengers hate it. My girlfriend refuses to open the door until I've removed the key from the ignition. I quite like it's quaint quavering kazoo sound ????

The autobox is smooth. It changes up quickly so you're top gear (3rd) at about 30mph. Kickdown is hilarious - you stamp on the accelerator and it lurches into 2nd until 55mph.

I'm in Kent - bought the car in Maidstone so Arundel isn't far. I did a two-hour drive to West London and it chugged along nicely. Was planning to drive to Hereford to see family so Arundel isn't far at all!!

Welcome!  Lovely car, we used to have a 4 door manual and it really impressed me.  I'd love to find one now with the proper gearbox, like yours!

It's my first automatic (apart from the occasional hire car over the years). It's like driving a go-kart albeit s-l-o-w-e-r...

That looks like a top purchase! Well bought!

That and welcome along to a world where we all go mad for an ageing Proton. You’ve found an inter web home here sir.

Spectacular!

I particularly like the "Automatic" badge on the boot, a feature that every other manufacturer must have stopped doing about 20 years previously...

Only the best cars kept "Automatic" designation on the bootlid. (Credit Bramz for the pic iirc)

I can almost imagine the immaculate 70s bungalow that the retired first owner lived in with his wife.

Hahaha! Glad I fit in somewhere. My girlfriend's neighbours said "We drove up and wondered what that piece of s*** was on the driveway..." :-D  My girlfriend isn't fussy and likes me and the car!

Stuff her neighbors that car is top titties lad.
