Indeed, I reckon AI might be able to run the DVLA in a decade or so, it's a lot of repetitive stuff that could be automated, would be crap for the 6,000 odd who work in Swansea. All this can be done by machines? We’re responsible for: recording driver endorsements, disqualifications and medical conditions issuing photocard driving licences issuing vehicle registration certificates to vehicle keepers taking enforcement action against vehicle tax evaders registering and issuing tachograph cards selling DVLA personalised registrations helping the police and intelligence authorities deal with crime providing anonymised data to those who have the right to use the service warren t claim 1

martc Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Invacar vs Invacare... Have you sent the DVLA a strongly worded missive yet? They may actually appreciate your input and correct the mistake before it gets out of control. LBF later.... CGSB, chadders, egg and 3 others 2 4
RayMK Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 Don't be too hasty. My Invacare is allowed to drive on pavements and into supermarkets 😄. (1990 approx. Invacare Discovery) martc, brummiejon, 500tops and 2 others 5

LightBulbFun Posted June 21, 2023 Author Posted June 21, 2023 in better news I managed to find out who was, and catch up with the current owner of the AC Acedes NPB840D this was the Sister car to the Ex Manchester Transport Museum Stanley Argson XPD805, and it too had also vanished into the ether somewhat, so I am glad to have managed to find out its whereabouts it sounds like its in good hands, the lady who owns it tells me she has never done a car up but explains she has a friend who is helping her, that she is enjoying it very much, and I have been told they have already got it running! so thats pretty exciting! the "please do net entre this vehicle" sticker on the glass while 2 people are inside tickles me "you cant tell me what to do!" its also been very awesome to finally get an inside shot of this vehicle! for as long as I have known of it, I have only ever had exterior shots and in Related AC news, a couple months back I managed to score an AC Acedes Mk14 handbook, which means I now have a complete line up for all AC Major types AC All Weather Tricycle, AC Acedes Metal Bodied, AC Acedes Fibreglass and finally AC Model 70! (although I am still lacking the AC Electric Invalid Tricycle (Model 64) and the in between marks of Acedes, Mk6, Mk7, Mk12, Mk15 etc) (and there is also the question of what sort of documentation was a Private Model 70 supplied with? because the yellow book is very much written in a Ministry orientated matter!) dont think the forum will allow the forwards to be readable sadly! but I noticed while doing the "photo shoot" that the AC All Weather does have something written by someone on the top of it! although I cant quite make out what it says 500tops, Mrs6C, martc and 1 other 4

Just looking at that wheel, it looks better than the ones fitted to our one, and I assume there will be plenty of other small bits and pieces which are shared by petrol and electric versions that would be worth salvaging. Did anyone get anywhere with tracking it down? With regards to the location of the abandoned Electric Harper. All the guy who took the photographs would say, was it was in Harrogate. He didn't give the impression he was going to be more forthcoming than that. Mrs6C, LightBulbFun and egg 3

LightBulbFun Posted June 21, 2023 Author Posted June 21, 2023 Just now, warren t claim said: Normal for a two stroke. interesting, but its not a 2 stroke! the AC All Weather Tricycle was powered by a modified (in what way I wonder) 4 Stroke BSA C10 engine
warren t claim Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 The C10 was a side valve engine meaning regular maintenance required. LightBulbFun 1
somewhatfoolish Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Yep, small 4 stroke engines weren't much more durable than 2 strokes, especially with the slightly sketchy cooling systems often employed in aftermarket applications like this. If the operator was giving it some up a hill in hot weather seizure was probably an accepted part of the experience, leading to frequent rebores. warren t claim and LightBulbFun 2
