Thanks for letting me join...a friend of mine @mat_the_cat suggested I might fit in here. Sadly I don't own anything shite-worthy at the moment but am hoping that will change soon!

My earliest motoring memory is my parents Yugo 45, so for nostalgic reasons probably something similar. Although perhaps the decadent 65bhp version!

Hi all,

I'm not new here, but have been away for a good while. Nice to see so many newer faces.

The RR Classic bit the dust after 15 fantastic years, so the obvious thing to do was buy a 4.2 litre supercharged  XF! When I got it home, the exhaust fell off.

We'll see how this goes!!!!

Hi all, bought because it was cheap but I actually quite like it.

There are a few battle scars but it generally works.

It’s just a 2.0 petrol

That sounds fairly safe and sensible as an engine choice 👌🤞

I'm mostly here to see what's for sale and possibly buy my very own piece of shite. Have had much shite over the years before scrappage scheme and dealers being scared of consumer rights act and so on ruined extreme shite for bottom feeders like myself. So I don't have anything very exciting to say. Although I guess I'm gonna have to say it at least 4 other times :)

Current garage includes a few pieces of non shite (which I consider off topic), and also a very very shite 60 reg Kia Picanto. On about 198k and MOT expired. Brake caliper basically turned to rust and it will be insane for me to fix it as I don't need the car, also I don't like it and it's my wife's, but I have no real choice as what sort of terrible individual would scrap a car with that mileage without taking it to 200k. I just mention this to be on topic a bit.

That's pretty heroic tbh.

Agree with @High Jetter fix it with appropriate thread accompaniment, include swearing and photos.

Hi everyone, my name is Alistair. I grew up in Australia but now live in London. Have had a number of Datsuns and a few Mazda rotaries over the years. I still have my first Datsun and my RX-7 in storage in Australia. I have very little interest in cars much newer than the early 80s, once I moved here I foolishly tried owning something 'new' (a 1993 Nissan 200SX) which hasn't really worked out. I'm hoping to buy something older and shite-er in the new year.

Earlier this year I discovered this forum, and considering that almost every old car I like but haven't yet owned is getting very expensive, I'm developing an interest in utterly average cars. One thing I do miss from Australia is seeing old piles of junk driving around so I'm hoping I will get that fix from being on here.

Here is the RX-7 at Falls Creek, a snow resort in Australia. It was my daily driver when I lived there and it went everywhere. I bought this when I was 18 because my Datsun kept having engine problems and a car without a head gasket seemed like something work trying 😂

In the twelve years I used it as a daily driver it has surprisingly few issues, mostly wear and tear, and proved very reliable and dependable, in some cases more so that friend's considerably newer and more expensive cars.

The Datsun has been off the road for many years, but it holds a lot of sentimental value because I bought it when I was 14. In the UK they were sold as a 160B or 180B, but since we got the big block two-litre engine in Australia, they were known as the 200B. It is a bit mis-matched as I put all of the best panels I had for it on the car due to storage reasons.

My plan is to get the RX-7 over the Europe and enjoy it here, and restore and leave the Datsun to drive around when I visit Australia.
