Well I bought this 2 weeks.

Went to see it about 2 months ago and the owner said he'd keep it for me when he was ready to sell

Had a call to say he was ready to sell.

Hes upgrading to a mk4 fez ,hes 83 and needs a newer 4 door car for his wife.

Hes had it from new 50k,hes misplaced the history paperwork, but he'll ring me if he finds it, I have the v5 slip and mot though. it has 2months tax and mot till mid sept. cost me....£290...RESULT

Came with a sunroof bag and straps and the original tax disc holder ,and original stereo

Lovely hearing aid grey colour paintwork and brown interior

Has filler on the front wings around the headlight area, thats the worst bit really.

I'M more than pleased with it,it only cost £150 fully comp with breakdown cover too

So piccie's

that is brilliant!well done. bet it feels good knowing without asking the owner you would never have had it!keep it for a few years and itll be worth millions in ford scene tax

Wow! what a cutie!, Don't see many like that about anymore, especially at that price!

Been driving it quite a bit 8) Any excuse. Has drawn a lot of attension, was expecting a bit,but christ the amount of nice comments i've been getting is unbelievable! plus people taking photos too.The owner had spent the week cleaning it for me too, took all the old stickers off he had collected on the back window, i was a bit gutted he took them off !The only real bad bit is the pile of filler he has put on around the head lights but at least he done his bit in trying to stop the rot, but i think the inner wings might need a bit of welding. They even gave it a wave good bye :lol: Told him i'd pop down to show him it in a few weeks when ive repaired the wings.

what are the straps in the boot for? sunroof? and where do they clip fit watevar? need to know as I have some similar straps out of a mk2 xr2 boot along with an unused spare alloy which I thought they might go around somehow?

Posted

you should be proud of it, im jealous!last time i saw a mk 1 fiesta (or at least remember) is probably 1997, when my nan had a neighbour who owned a van one!rusty as hell mind.

Well i am going to mod it a bit, 13"alloys and drop it 50mm, de-badge grill, take spots off. and i'll make sure i keep it all to put back to standard when i feel the urge too.It came with a blue vinyl bag in the boot which is to put the sunroof in,then you strap that onto the boot boards with them rubber straps lol..crazy idea.

i do like the idea of modding slightly, but being able to make it stock again:) be sure to post pictures when youve done that!

I have dropped it 50mm and 175/50 13's and 13 snowflake rs alloys, but i dropped the camara and bust the screen...doh!:lol: buying a camara on the weekend so i shall do some pics.I did love it as it looked, but i can always go back.Gives me one hell of a buzz driving it though. :)

A mk1 fiesta would have been ideal as a first car, shame about the current prices of them (bar yours).By making it so it can be reverted back to its original state, is such a better way. If you come to sell it, it appeals to everyone, so win win.Plus whatever mood you are in, you can make it look as you please.

Personally, I prefere the steels and trim rings, Snowflake (as in RS?) alloys are a bit on the bland side. Quality find and purchase, cant be many left.

I agree mate , snow flakes are a bit bland. I did'nt want anything to ott.I like the steels its just they are a bit on the skinny side...but could get um banded 8) but skint too !!But when some cash is free, i might get some supersport alloys or if i'm lucky some alleycats. And fank ew all for the comments too.

Very nice, has it got the ECONOMY lights in the speedometer? :lol:Nice to see that the sunroof bag has managed to survive, these are surprisingly uncommon :)

might I suggest some xr2 steel wheels with your trim rings, If I remember correctly they are 6j wide 13 inch diameter and take 185 60 profile tyres

Are those the ones that look like banded Mk3 Escort Ghia ones? If so I agree they look great!

That is soooo cute! Sort those wings and it's perfect. Thank god the bloke didn't go for scrappage! Bargain! I would have.....

take spots off

I quite like the spot lights, I'd keep them on, My mate had a 950 one of these years ago, He cut the springs so it was rock hard and fitted XR2 alloys and a straight though exhaust, Was very quite surprisingly and handled like a train on tracks.I took it for a spin once and nearly hit a car up the front as i didn't know it had a knackered gearbox, It would drop into reverse instead of 1st

Is it missing the thickpart of the Finesse stripe? Nice Mota though!

This car is a real sweetie. Very appealing to look at these things when they are as straight as that one. You can always tell when they've had hadrian sills and arches, no matter how carefully theyve been done. Is it a 1100 or 1300? My dad used to have an 1100, and it was quite perky although low-geared. I always wondered what it'd be like if it had been a 1300.

The car is only an 1100 but quite nippy. my first car was a 1300s back in 1990 :lol: seems just as quick..which is'nt a lot !I'm not sure if its missing a thicker stripe either, no idea what stripes are meant for it??The xr steels sound a good idea, i think the later types have round holes too. Didnt the escort mk3 ghia steels have chrome centre caps, like disc's??? 8) Ive taken the spots off..for now, undecided on them. I'll tidy them up and keep them safe. The old guy was considering the "scrapage scheme"at one point..iirc. But he had a lot of love for his fezza, musta changed his mind......thank god !!It has the ECONOMY LIGHTS , i wondered what the hell they were at first, like a mini disco. Been thinking about putting xr head lights on too, just to see ,as i've got a mint xr2 bumper.Shall be spending the weekend tidying up the bumpers ,they have 1 or 2 small dents.

It's weird, mine have never been on anything but a constant green since I first picked the car up. The journey home after collecting it, I got yellow & even red come up, but never seen them since! I must have got used to the car & therefore know how not to provoke it / get a reaction from the lights!

Mine come on quite a lot tbh, they are distracting, i'm thinking of taking the dash apart and putting some tape over them

What the hell have they done to the back of that? Crayford it is not...

That is a strange looking rag top

last time I saw one was a yellow 'R' reg in 98 or 99.....I remember them when they first came out, my granddad bought a brown Ghia version but hated it and swapped it for an escort 1.6 GL...
