Numberwang. A spoof game show sketch from Mitchell and Webb.

Contestants buzz in with random numbers and at some point the host would shout "That's Numberwang!"

I think you had to be there. I'm sure a quick Google will bring up some clips.

I know the chap who runs Vitesse Motor Services in Mold. If any of you north wales shiters need work doing, i can highly recommend.

http://www.vitessemotorservices.com

Have used him a few times over the years. Heartily recommended.

Thanks to whoever found the pic in my thread. It's truly amazing to behold on the flesh. I haven't been by in a while. I'll have to pop up and have a look.

Given the amount of "classic cars" going missing lately, I am surprised this has not been nicked. I hope that it doesn't.

Based on the fact that an old bloke in Hemington used to have one of these and although it looked great.

Up close, the bodywork looked like hammered pewter with a million little dents and I have always thought the bodywork on these was made of aluminium?

My point?

It's perhaps not rotten, just tatty?

Aw where's the Rover Limo gone....

Posted

Near me is a Vantage, that hasn't moved in 20+ years. House is occupied, but just seems bizarre that you would leave these things to rot. I remember a DB5 or 6 in similar condition to the above going for vast money a few years ago.  It's one thing keeping an old banger, but  this makes no sense.

There is an old Aston Martin Virage just off the road on the Cranbrook Road just south of Staplehurst (Kent).

It has been there years.

Some people just like hoarding.

I know what it's like. I find it difficult getting rid of cars too, especially if you feel attached to them. Mine are not worth anything though...

Perhaps, just perhaps, there are some people who aren't just motivated by financial gain and are quite happy to keep hold of uninteresting cars just because they've had them for donkey's years and don't wish to sell. Or else, out of sheer bloody-mindedness have it decaying gently. Either way, I like the guy, ten times more than the posers with immaculately restored examples at car shows.

It's his train set, so he can jump up and down on the trains and carriages if he so chooses.

It may have great sentimental value and maybe the owner is planning to restore one day..........

But, feck me, that is quite some banger to have sat on your drive.

I wonder how long before someone rocks up and shows him the goldfinger that clinches the deal

And there was me thinking that the XR2 rotting away up the road in the Rainbow Garage was a waste.

It must be a Flintshire thing.

Perhaps the owner is away on an extended tiger shoot stay at Her Majesty's pleasure

In my eyes there no difference between this and an old triumph sitting and being neglected. It's a shame and we'll probably never know the reasons behind it but there's nothing queer as folk.

Absolutely 100% sure it's an actual Aston and not a replica?

Any of our Welsh shitists brave enough to sneak up with a magnet?

Posted

Genuine.

Magnet won't do much on Aluminium
