I can’t say much around that Mally other than you have lived a good life up to now with many good memories and I suspect your wife did too.

You have a good few years yet to honour those memories by continuing to live as she would want you to. Three days is plenty and you should spend the other four writing a guide on preparing a car on a budget for grass track. I reckon it would be a good read.

Thanks, I take every day as it comes but have a flexible timetable. 3 days cars, 1 day nothing, 3 days with my lady friend.

I'm hoping to depart before becoming unable to carry on as usual, but aware it rarely happens.

I'm more afraid of over staying  than early departure. My family know my thoughts, and my POA is written accordingly.

My  lady thinks like you, but at 10 years younger so she should.

Write a guide? You've no idea how long it takes me to write this.

Costa del Sol shortly, Sunny Beach in 6 weeks. That's as far ahead as it goes.

It sounds like you I made a great team with an awful lot to be proud of in the family you have now and what you have to look back on.

Keep using this place for support, even if it's just a distraction and keeping us informed about the family's racing exploits.

Thank You.

I have difficulty expressing my thoughts, but find it helps to write things down on here.

Donnington tomorrow I think, for my Grandson. First race with the 750 Motor Club.

Update of events,

Donnington went well, 2 mid finishes in Torrential rain.

A few weeks later at Brands Hatch, 2 crashes early on. First not Rory's fault, Second was. Now has quite a bit of damage and 2 penalty points.

I'm picking it up this weekend for slight repairs to chassis.

Weekend of 3/4 May, Amelia won 2 Junior races and Hannah won Ladies final. This with an engine newly rebuilt by Ste, So happy there.

On the same weekend, a young junior driver lost her life in Ireland in an Autograss event.

It's very, very rare, but can happen.

Ste has sold his Autograss special. Too crowded in the garage and not enough time to sort Amelia and race himself.

The day after he sold the car Amelia fell at School and broke her collarbone.

Is most upset, as unable to race now for a few months. In spite of the pain she wants to go on this weekend, but it's not happening.

In view of the events in Ireland all Autograss racing was cancelled  10/11 May.

R.I.P. Lauren O'Brien.

You're a good man,Mally.Keep on keeping on!And telling us about it.I've said it before, but think it's worth saying again. You're an Autoshite elder statesman and frequently a voice of reason.

There's more. Phone call just now.

Amelia has to go to hospital Monday for a decision on possible shoulder operation.

Fuck. Do you reckon it could be one of them were she can have the op after the holiday?

Nowt to do with me. I bought her a V pillow and that's the end of my involvement.

Tends to heal itself but maybe they have seen something on the X -ray.

DiL is a travel agent with Althams so will know her way around insurance.

I thought a Cruise was strange but its a ship set up for Kids  it seems. Be difficult with your arm in a sling and told not to bang it.

Bet you need a fit to travel like a plane.

Short on medical facilities on a boat they may not let her travel anyway.

If they want to do it that quick, let them - it must be urgent. Our NHS have been very flexible with both of us in altering dates to fit round big events, like holidays - but they haven't been really urgent ops.

Amelia's arm is deemed 'fit to travel'. Do nothing and see you in 3 weeks. So on the boat, Ship? tomorrow.

In other news, someone on f/b took a Yaris to Toyota for MOT.

Failed on 2 droplinks, 2 small front brake pipes , 1 tyre. and probably what killed it, a complete exhaust and Cat.  £1,248 altogether Sir.

So its in our garden now,  We don't use the tyres or Cat so it's rather cheaper for us to fix and race it.

Bought* a 2 tier car trailer Ebay classifieds on Friday.

Sure mate, no deposit needed pick it up Solihul Monday night no problem, it's yours.

Txt Sunday night. Sorry I was selling it on someone else's behalf. I had permission, but unknown to me he's sold it himself to someone else.

Thought it was strange he wouldn't take our deposit.

So, nothing to do and I've not seen the garage floor for years.

Things are still going round in circles. I don't go often these days. Amelia is back to winning, as is her Mum.

Keira, age 9-1/2 had her first drive today. Practise in a friendly farmers field miles away.

She soon got the hang of it and can now start, stop, drive alone, and change from first to second.

That's everything you need to be a racing driver.

Next year both Grand kids will race. So a 2 Car trailer has been bought and the search is on for an IVECO 3,0 Daily.

6 years in with ours Pete and its been a good bus. Only bother we've had with it was the adblue tank sensor getting gummed up/stuck at the bottom of its travel and I blew a hole in the return pipe on the power steering. Other than that been all over the country in it.

There' s a couple more photos, lost in Cyber space.

However I've removed the bulkhead today. Many large rivets were  drilled out..

I later dropped a spanner inside the door pillar, it's there forever now. (not 10mm). 13 mm actually for grab handle.

Whilst seeking said spanner with my torch and magnet, I noticed there were many rivet ends and aluminium swarf lodged within the workings of the seat belt roll.

If I hadn't dropped the spanner I'd never have noticed until all the works were jammed up.
