OMG ALL VXHALLS R SH1T!!!

Only the modern ones! lol.

Erm, that statement probably still stands. I said I would never own one of these things (I'd rather take the bus etc) but this one's a cracker.

One of these? They aren't really a BOLLOXALL you know, so aren't shit. Just utterly utterly shite. Also I sat in one once and the seating position and general shape and feel immediately did make me need a shit.

Cort16, if it's any consolation, I vowed I'd never have another Granada after my first.... don't worry, we all do it. I wouldn't have expected to be driving a Peugeot 406 either, although there was no definitive vow involved. If you chance upon a honey, or even just something that takes your fancy, don't feel guilty for buying it.*

*Until three years down the line, when you're sick to the back teeth of pouring money into the bastard and have been failing to sell it all over the internet for at least a year and a half.............

I wish. I've just bought my 2nd ever Vauxhall.

Posh Astra

Do those words belong in the same sentence?

I must admit that I have a very, very definite hankering for one of those Astra coupes... easily the best looking Mk4 Astra and not a bad drive either. Good work!

Posted

I really don't like Mk4 Astra's but the coupes look better (slightly) and more so in black. They still have the same depressing interior though just so you don't forget what you're driving.

I had one of those Astra Coupes in sunrise orange, one of the last ones as it happened, really rather a good car although I don't think the 1.6i 8v engine was its best feature. Was never sure about the chrome stripe across the bootlid but it was otherwise quite a looker. Those pillarless doors look ace but they are proper heavy.

I've got a set of Rover Streetwise centre caps so I can kit my Rover van out with the natty 15" steels!

But then I then I think Hislop & Merton are a pair of Quislings for the way they treated Angus Deayton and the show hasn't been as good since. Yes thats right, a 'mainstream' opinion its not.

Saw a white Rickman Ranger this morning on the car park at Wrightington Hospital. Sadly didn't have a camera and my phone is too old/shite and also doesn't have a camera. Have never heard of a Rickman Ranger before! The Rickman I know of used to make fairings for motorbikes when I was a lad, 1970's. Presumably the same company, as the Ranger appeared to have a fibreglass body. It was road legal and obviously well used. Hats off to whoever drives it. Anyone any knowledge of these cars?

RWD Escort mechanicals IIRC, but made to look like a Suzuki SJ.

Speaking of crap Ford-based kit cars, I saw that NCF Diamond near Tregaron the other day - actually on the road! It seemed to fail to sell on Ebay (twice IIRC), but at least it was being used.

I'm watching Lovejoy on a channel called Yesterday (appropriately enough!) and the cops have just arrived to arrest the baddies... excellent drifting in a jam-butty Senator! On gravel too. :D

Also, and I really am loathe to say this so early as it's sure to tempt fate, but I got connected to PlusNet today (thanks to recommendations on here) and it all seems a jolly wheeze so far, so thanks.
