What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

I dunno, if I found a Nazi war criminal wandering around Brighton I'd give him a good kicking. I'd probably give Murdoch a sharp jab to the goolies too given the chance. And I while wouldn't hit the Queen, I'd certainly spit in her face.

In fact most pensioners would receive some sort of physical abuse from me if I had the chance. Old people are icky.

As far as I know, Murdoch is mass media, not mass murder. And if you did spit on the Queen, you'd be on the business end of a bayonet sharpish.

Why would you spit in the Queens face?

Maybe the are holding the stamp back to front?!

Hey that looks tidier there then it did in the ebay ad, Hopefully you've got a bargain Bo1, I can't wait to see you burn some sparks into these!

Was having a larf when I read C&SC's buyer's guide on these. "DO NOT BUY A RESTO PROJECT OR YOU MIGHT DIE!" Perhaps they just don't understand the Autoshite ways.

Also, do not drive them in the wet. Not sure whether that's because they'll crash and you'll drive or if that's simply because they dissolve.

Looking forward to whatever happens with this one!

Did anyone see that madman on 'Homes From Hell' who bought the house in Cyprus. Get a f**king life mate

Can anyone ID which parts bin the nine switches in the centre console are from?

Posted

My pal who had his hiace camper knicked has just been told it is in Nairobi having been bought by a church and driven over there.

My knicked scooter is now back together and all I need is a mirror for it now and it's ready for an Mot £115 including some panels and a toP box as extras and the cost of putting it back on the road is still less than the excess I would have paid on the insurance.

Who knows, but I bet they even appear in a Talbot Express

Saw that nutter O'Dwyer myself. I think he wants those property developers to kill him. I thought he was offered decent compo to get the hell outta dodge and go home.

Anyway, his wife - WOULD!

I wasn't paying close attention but it looked like the builder kindly offered a refund early on but greedy twunt wanted more because property values had risen, what is it with these scum that believe they're entitled to money they haven't earned. As for getting roughed up at the building site, the twat's very lucky he's not now part of the foundations of his 'dream home'.

There's a lot of talk about this O'Dwyer chap on a local forum over here. I haven't read most of it, because it doesn't directly affect me (we rent). There does seem to be an awful lot of room for improvement in the property system over here though. Vast swathes of dodgy practices, left right and centre. Buying seems to be about as safe as restoring a Maserati-engined Citroen while blindfolded and riding a unicycle....

I suspect it's because they're SUPA TAIL HAPPY, as well as all of the above.

He was offered a full refund plus interest. He refused and spent hours protesting outside their offices etc. Total helmet

Proof that the old VW lot are fucking insane. From a For Sale post on Retro Rides:

Mate are you out of ya mind!!!!!!!!!!

Peugeot use some of the thinest tin in existance!

No where near as safe and solid as an old bug!

An airbag does not mean safe car! especially a pug!

Would rather my kids buy a classic as a first than some old french tat!

Yeah, because having a rusty Beetle fold up and having a non collapsible steering column twat you in the chest is far safer than running a 306TD as your first car. I'd give a new driver about 2 weeks before stuffing a Beetle in a ditch, or the first time that it rained. Granted I did see a Beetle go through a 106 when the two collided at a set of traffic lights, but that isn't neccessarily the best thing for the driver.

OMG I KNOW VWS AND LYKE WOT I NO.

I imagine an old Beetle would be pretty good in a crash, the other car would have an enormous wall of Isopon to crash through first.

One less on the road, I suppose. I just think a [rough] Beetle on shit tyres would make a pretty shit first car, especially if you learned to drive in something FWD. Pile into a bend too fast or rag along with a load of your pointlessly trendy m8s yo would see you in a ditch pretty quick, because a Beetle would behave in the opposite way to what you're used to.

Get in! My calculations for that invisible tax for up to '07 turned out to have been far too pessimistic, so I'll 'only' get stung with a couple of grands' worth of unplanned expenditure instead of something well into 5 figures.

I'm also feeling proud of myself because I managed to navigate the maze that is the xda developers website and successfully 'flash' my mobile phone with some up-to-date software. If the original version lasted 2.5 years, there is no reason for the new one not to stay alive for another couple.

Having the fuel tank in between you and whatever you're about to hit is always a winner as well. God I hate bugs. Literally everything about them is shit and not in a good way. Ex wife had one and her brother "ran a sepcialist business" restoring them. Never saw him do any actual work, like. He just had a unit with a couple in with a mate and spent all his time running up and down to caornwall on daddy*-funded jaunts. Specialist restoration in this case meant getting the tidiest available bugs, spraying them lime green and whacking fucking enormous Porsche alloys on. They still never ran right.

*in fairness the former f-i-l was perhaps the nicest person I've ever known, despite being fabulously well off. He ran an old but absolutely mint 740 glt saloon converted to LPG and did about 50k a year in it.

God I'm rambling a lot of shite this morning waiting for a server to wake up. I'll pipe down again now.
