Amazing isn't it how people used to use their fkin eyes and manage to fkin see other fkin vehicles in broad fkin daylight without the fkin need for fkin blinding day fkin time running lights and fkin twats not knowing how to fkin use a fkin headlight switch and having front fkin fog fkin lights on all the fkin time..... Ooops wrong fkin thread, should of been in the "grumpy" thread

True though! It's daft that when you see a car without two death stars on display during the day time that THEY are the ones that stand out nowadays

Quite a few decent vids appeared over the weekend...

Amercan car brochures: 1972 AMC range, DeLorean, Bricklin, Lincoln Continental mark 5 and last but not least, Chevrolet Citation (& Chevette).

Some more hot AMC action and the Japanese invasion:

There was a great 1970's film (that I saw on Talking Pictures) that was about increasing the apperance of motorcycles to make them more conspicuous to cars. The solution was an elasticated hi-viz cover that fitted over your (switched off) headlight. I remember them because I bought one for my Goldwing.

Why no one thought that running with the bikes headlight on was a better solution.

I feel daft for running round with no lights on, but a bit of orangey yellow 7 inch disc over the headlight to ensure I was seen.

Anyone else still watching the Flexus (Focus Mk1 with Lexus twin turbo) build?

I know hoonigan isn't very autoshite and some of their stuff is painful to watch (bro). However this is quite a good watch (Ken Block always comes over a bit of a grumpy dick) but Rob Dahms enthusiasm and self destructing car is great. Also he ripped off the mustangs suspension design by screen shotting youtube videos.

There's no way I'd get in it though.

It is kind of amazing that even in 2021 in the US of A they are still sticking massive V8 (sub 15 mpg) engines in aging designs. Doug getting all excited about it, but it's pretty basic stuff. It's fascinating that America has the great disrupter in Tesla and good old Dodge clinging on to 20th Century ways. They won't sell many of these in Norway!

I was working in the area when the camp of the great unwashed was outside The Common.

The roadworks in Whitchurch was my responsibility! I was told about the convoy when I  was on site . I missed the excitement.

The woods where the convoy hid in is called   Harewood Forest.

I've often wondered where they'd deploy too, seeing as they appeared pretty slow moving - apparently the launch sites are still officially secret, so it's prison for you now :)

Whitchurch is down the road from me, bit unsettling seeing these things on roads I know well.

In the days before the A34 was dual carriage around Newbury. I also remember the tree dwellers trying to stop the construction of the new road near to  Burghclere.

I only gave away the filming location.😇
