Right then. Howabout about a bit of Shite related Top of the Pops. Very few TOTP from before 1976 survive due to the tapes being wiped. Those episodes that survive, do so by accident rather than design.

Here are two shite related items from the episode 29-04-1971.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD5UdXq-JLQ 'Indiana wants me' by R Dean Taylor. Mr Taylor must have been unavailable, so they made a video of a bloke running away from 'Indiana' around a quarry, by the look of it. When the 'State Troopers' finally catch up with him they can count a G reg Mk 2 Cortina and Corsair amongst the pursuit vehicles..

Following on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msqKQA-bhrA 'Henry Ford' by The Mixtures. The band sit in an old Ford, with an appropriate period video traffic backdrop...

I'll list the rest of this episode, so you can put the shite into some period Tony Blackburn context if you feel the need...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai8_wlYHk7Y Intro and then 'Malt & Barley Blues' by McGuiness Flint

'Indiana Wants Me' by R Dean Taylor

'Henry Ford' by The Mixtures

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAzDiSQuSN4 'Mama's Pearl' by the Jackson Five, danced to by Pan's People. Hmmm.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZrnPA7bO3w 'It don't come Easy' by Ringo Starr

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIEGv3JiZHs 'Everybody Clap' by Lulu. With Pan's People. Hmmm again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csRcGXmdifg 'Sugar Sugar' by Sakkarin. The chart run down, with Kids already dancing like their parents

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WUuIGm_T-c 'Richmond' by The Faces

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hw01eOeOyk The No. 1 sound. 'Double Barrel' by Dave & Ansil Collins. Closing credits with crowd dancing to 'Jig a Jig' by East of Eden.

The first one is ace but wait till you get to 1m25. Fucking brilliant. Rest of it is gash.

I realise I am the last person that is able to take the piss out of people for crashing their car when filming it on camera but am posting it anyhow.......

I did want to put a Chrysler Sunbeam in my life, until I saw this video. Now I reckon I'm not cool enough.

Thanks for posting those TOTP vids, Vin. Brilliant stuff. I love Dave & Ansill Collins. Live vocals as well! I'm not sure that the audience quite knew what to make of the Faces in acoustic mode. And does Tony Blackburn look half asleep?

Bedford CF action from Paul Hogan.

Bloody funny too IMHO;

Nice one A5 8)

I'm currently rewatching my copy of the Chinese Detective.

Now I know how to do it, I'm doing 'screen grabs' of all the old TAT, like Trigger did with the Sweeney.

I'll do a thread when I'm done.

The quite entertaining 1991 German film, "Manta Manta", mit Englische untertitel. An Autoshite version of "The Fast and the Furious", if you will:

I love this, especially because the car in the video is a dead ringer for the 131 which was my first car :D

Brilliant! :D

I was told that copyright issues with the music used in the series had stopped it from being released on DVD. Obviously, those issues have now been resolved :)
